Bama-barn being moved to Thanksgiving weekend?

Has anyone heard about this? I saw a poll on AL.COM asking if people were happy with the move. I looked at UA's schedule and it still shows the game the weekend before Turkey Day.

no problems with me..this is where the game should be played....it's now on Rival Weekend...and what better game to have on rival weekend than Alabama/Auburn. Besides this is where it was prior to '93.

That is my understanding, it starts in 2007. It does give us an extra week to prepare for the AU game and all the hype that comes with 2 weeks off. I am sure the newspaper love the move. The downside I guess is that it only gives us 1 week preparation for the SEC Championship Game.

for some reason though...'Bama has never really played that great coming off an off week!!! There have been times that we played good but overall we aren't that great after an off week. I hope that changes...I thought I read somewhere though were our off week was going to be before LSU??? Am I wrong on this?

I don't think so. No one has said anything about being open the week before AU. I believe the plan is to move one of the non-conference "filler" games to that week and have our open date at a more beneficial time toward the middle of the season.

Thanksgiving will go back to being a rather tense weekend ...:wink: My mom's brother played FB for Shug Jordan, and Thanksgiving was always fun when his family and ours got together.

I believe that (week before the auburn game) would be a good La. Monroe type of match up and have the break during the middle of the year. It makes more sence. Its rough playing LSU then Auburn, we used to have MSU before Auburn, now LSU then Auburn, thats rough.
