Bama getting no respect

Which is modified elsewhere.

Not the argument you're hoping it is.

If I explain something on page five, I don't have to appeal to it everywhere else.
My point is you stated and I quote "NOWHERE - despite fans bleating on and on about this cliche - does it say that. I've posted this several times, but since I'm a firm believer in making a point over and over and over again, I'll do it again.".

You were wrong. It very clearly states that on their website despite if you want to say "well it's modified elsewhere".

You also just got busted NOT citing it from the PLAYOFF site.

I now know why you didn't bother to include the link.

You cited it from here:
How the College Football Playoff works | NCAA.com

I cited it FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE:
CFP Selection Committee Protocol - College Football Playoff

ETA:
What makes this even funnier is THEY LINK THE CFP SITE DOWN THE PAGE!!!

Wrong again. It's from the CFP site under the FAQ page.

I linked the quote on the website.

Is clicking links not something your computer can do???

I'll gladly make the point again:
the four best teams from among several with legitimate claims to participate.

Not "four best teams."

Yes and since you didn't refute my argument - you just got mad and repeated the debunked claim you made - you just lost the argument.

but peace to you. This is to be enjoyed, not frustrate you.
The problem with the ignore feature is you still see replies from other people who quote you. I’ll just have to just live with it.

And don’t be pendantic. If you’re “among several with legitimate claims to participate” means you just pick the four best teams…

You’re smarter than this but your obsession with being right ALL THE TIME has blinded you. You know the whole thing is a lie.

And you then went to the website that I linked that is the OFFICIAL website, right???

You were wrong. It very clearly states that on their website

You didn't link their website, you linked a different one.

Again, I'll be patient and educate you:

I SPECIFICALLY cited this site:
CFP Selection Committee Protocol - College Football Playoff

Now to prove me wrong, you have to find it there.
What you did instead was go to THIS website:
How the College Football Playoff works | NCAA.com

Which means even YOU knew you were wrong doing it.

despite if you want to say "well it's modified elsewhere".

You did prove me wrong.

I made the mistake of thinking you were arguing from their site in good faith.

I will not EVER make that mistake again. Trust me on that.

Doesn't matter if the website says "The Four Best Teams". What matters is their criteria to determine "The Four Best Teams".
People always ask this question and it’s the same answer every year: just watch the games. There are 4 teams who are clearly better than everyone else. Sometimes it’s only 2 teams that matter, 2021 being the most recent example.

I, along with many others, would just like the committee to clearly outline what they consider to be the guidelines when determining their 4 "best" teams at the first ranking. That would help clear up a TON of confusion and outrage. And it would allow the committee to value different things year-by-year instead of having different criteria on a team-by-team basis that makes no sense and leaves a LOT of ambiguity out there.
Why would they do that?

The entire point of having a committee is to retain ambiguity in the process. They are not going to relinquish their most precious asset.

Brother, you were wrong. You said no where on their site does it say "Four best teams". I screenshotted the FAQ page AND LINKED THEIR FAQ page. Whether you want to click on the link to the official website is up to you.

Then you claim I went to some NCAA page and linked from there. Here, I'll post it again in case you didn't see the link before hand.

Not only that but he claims it doesn’t say “four best teams” and then presented evidence where it literally says “four best teams”…

Yes, it says 'four best teams' and the next question explains how what they mean by that may not mean what you think.

So yes he was wrong to say 'nowhere does it say' but the point is that the place where it does say is an oversimplification which is elaborated on immediately.

Apparently it does until the time you cite the CFP website.

I can link a Flat Earth website, but it doesn't prove anything.
The screenshot I provided doesn't even align with the link you provided I supposedly cited. You've been wrong multiple times here, but most people don't have time to read through 8 paragraphs of text to pick apart the 15 points you make. Regardless, you were wrong and just can't cope. That's fine.

I'm not arguing their criteria on how they determine 4 best teams. The point is that he clearly and confidently states that the website does not say "four best teams" anywhere, although it clearly does. I'm irked by people who are confidently wrong and can't admit it when they're called out. Is it silly? Maybe. But I don't like the "know-it-all" types who can't handle being wrong.

The minute they put TCU in the playoffs last year after losing a game and not even dropping them a single spot, the whole thing lost all credibility.

It's worse this year specifically with regard to Oregon and Bama. Oregon has beaten no one and lost to the only good team they've played. That same team (Washington) has looked like crap most of the 2nd half of the season. Meanwhile, Bama has beaten multiple ranked teams by 2 TDs and the committee couldn't care less.

If they would just clearly define the ranking guidelines on first rankings of each year, I think this whole thing could be cleared up. If they're working off SoS, just say that. If they're running on eye test, so be it. Just make it clear to start.
