Helps offset some of the longevity concerns about KlemmI think this is BIG news. Great hire. He was Louisville's OL coach and had great success there.
It's like we are getting another OL coach and a TE coach in one!
Yep and that is what I was waiting to happen. I was going to be a bit nervous if another OL coach wasn't hired but am glad that will not be the case. No doubt DeBoer is trying to make moves to get this thing back on track.Helps offset some of the longevity concerns about Klemm
I love this.I've got to give it to DeBoer, whether he ultimately makes it or not, I have to say the guy is trying. Now that I've seen the changes at OL coaching and what he's done in the portal. I'm starting to wonder if we're also going to see some tweeks to his coaching style/philosophy? Personally, I don't think he needs a complete overhaul of his philosophy, because there are aspects of it I really do like. But I do think his philosophy needs to add an aspect of a physical power running game to it. You can blend the two if the right adjustments are made. I just think DeBoer is too smart of a guy to be stubborn and not adjust anything.
That’s now 3 offensive coaches hired, got to think tweaking the offense is coming. More specifically the run game, play action aspects and physicality or at least based on the three hires.
I’m hoping he steps back and lets the assistants chew some of these guys and get them right. I would like to see him be more of a soother when the pots get too hot.I've got to give it to DeBoer, whether he ultimately makes it or not, I have to say the guy is trying. Yes, that will work. I know most people would like to see him run a little hotter at times, but he is more of a laid-back person. But if he surrounds himself with "hotter/more intense" personalites that'll be a good step.I’m hoping he steps back and lets the assistants chew some of these guys and get them right. You need a little laid back in any program, but it doesn’t need to be the predominant feeling.

He’s smart enough to understand that a physical inside rushing attack frees up space for his short quick route trees in his offense. That’s now 3 offensive coaches hired, got to think tweaking the offense is coming. It doesnt even have to be a power run scheme. It just has to be a functional blocking scheme instead of what we have seen so far.I love this.
I believe this is solid evidence of the beginning of a transformation. And it's important to note, as you did, that he doesn't need to make wholesale changes...he just needs to blend his offensive MO with more power running schemes!
I had the privilege to watch UA practice the first three springs CNS was in charge. It was high intensity from all hands on deck. They were pretty successful. Just saying.Usually you want a good cop - bad cop dynamic.
Either the Assistants wearing them out and the HC consoling them or Vice versa.
But somebody has to provide an element of pushing them with tough love so to speak.
It’s difficult if not impossible to extract growth from an everybody is best friends environment.
gt, you’re obviously a coach. At this level of football, you have to be able to run the ball. I agree with you. If not, we’re in for more of the same.It doesnt even have to be a power run scheme. It just has to be a functional blocking scheme instead of what we have seen so far.
