So tonight's game didn't turn out the way I had hoped. 3rd string QB didn't get it done; no suprise to me. The defense is awesome. I think we have more superstars on this team in as long as I can remember. If Shula has done one thing well, it's recruit. He is an excellent evaluator of talent.

I think what we've seen over the past couple of games is a mostly very young team get a lot better. They're still not over the hump yet. They need to learn how to close out these big games, but that'll come with experience.

Think of your list of guys on this team that are spectacular: Darby (Soph), Both Castiles (Frosh and Soph), Knight (Frosh), Brown (Frosh), most of the D (most not seniors). Pretty promising.

We'll lose 3 solid O-line men, which has got to be #1 priority in recuiting. We'll also be thin in depth next year (not telling you anything you didn't know [Fulmer, I'll see you in hell, you fat bastard]), but I do think that we'll be better than we are this year. If Shula can keep up the good recruiting, in 2006 we'll be an incredible, dominant team.

3 weeks ago, I wanted everybody including the receptionist of the athletic department fired. I've gotten over that. My guess is, there'll be one or two shake-ups on Shula's staff over the next couple of years (all conjecture on my part, btw) -- nothing too major though. We'll also win more and more. That's pretty exciting. All we can ask is that they show improvement week after week -- which we've seen over the last few weeks. We'renot playing on a level playing field with ANY of the other teams in the SEC. This is going to take time, but for the first time in a long time, I think we're going in the right direction. Let's be clear headed and let this thing flourish.

I agree completely. 2005 will be a tough year. We may not even make it to a bowl. 2006 looks like the start of our climb back to the mountain top...

We lose 3 great Offensive Linemen this year. We have no real depth on the O Line to pick up the slack going into next year. No matter who is at QB, we will probably struggle in '05...

maybe we'll luck out and the new offensive lineman will be able to play well right away like wesley britt and evan mathis did when they were underclassman. if we don't lose too much on the offensive line i think croyle and those receivers can lead us to a solid year. especially if the defense stays good.

Everyone keeps saying 2005 will be a bad year , I really don't think so the only area we will be truly thin at will be on the O-line otherwise we will be returning almost the entire starters on D and O. I think we will win 8 to 10 games and have a real shot at going to the sec champ game. Also Tyrone Protho is a serious threat that we do not use enough, he is explosive when he touches the ball.

I agree, this is going to be the worst year we are going to have as far as numbers, depth, ect. And really we are alot better off this year than I thought we would be. If Brodie is healthy we are 8-0. They even said that on CBS. It should be all downhill from here. We are back to signing a full 25 this winter. Next year should actually be much better than this one. And this one we are just a step away. Stay with these kids folks, they deserve it.

I was really surprised that this game was as close as it was! I knew we'd play well on defense, but i felt that it would be on the field all night and UT would wear us down. Take away a couple of blown assignments and some questionable play-calling late in the game, and we win!

I really feel that Coach Shula will need to adjust a few things in the offseason. Maybe find a play-caller. I believe that we will recruit very well, but can only hope that the kids we recruit can pass their classes. Because regardless of where we are ranked int he recruiting, it doesnt do us a darn bit of good if the kids dont pass their classes.

Recruiting will be the key to our success in the next few year. Our younger players are already getting tons of experience. This will help us in the future and a full recruiting load will help us depth-wise.

We desperately need to find a solid, HEALTHY....QB. We actually need 3 or more. I'm talking about playmakers who aren't among the walking wounded in their Sr season in highschool. In fact, it might be a good idea to recruit new freshmen as well as a solid JUCO transfer QB to get us through a season or two.

Of course it goes without saying that offensive and defensive recruits are a must.

However, I still have faith in the Tide. It will get better. (Cant get much worse than last year).

What also needs to be taken into consideration is the fact that these players will have continuity with the coaching staff and coaching philosophy. I think that is a big plus and will certainly help with recruiting. Added to that CMS and his staff are great recruiters, we should do OK in 2005 and much better in 2006.

May have a chance at a certain QB from NC who has verbally committed to the Viles. Who, in their right mind, would sign on with a team who has a consistent record of starting the same QB for 4 years. I doubt he wants to wait for 3 years to play a game. Hey, Jonathon, come on down to Tuscaloosa!

You know this is waht alot of us said in the spring. There were others that thought we would go undefeated. Look it, we are thin, we lost our best player and the talet dropped off. We lost one of our fullbacks with nothing behind him to work with McClain. Thank God we had some depth at running back. I cringe to think what happens if we lost KD. Why is anyone shocked at the year so far.
I think we should focus on the positives and many are. We are playing way better than I thought we would. We have more depth at the D line than I thought we would. Our O line is playing fantastic. Our secondary is on fire.
Let the world hide and watch Bama in the next few years.
Last nite was exactly why fulmer prefers us on porbation. If we played that well without being at full strength, well he knows what will happen. So will the whole nation soon.
