Bama Players Transferring (catch all thread)

Interesting that Lonergan is considering UGA. They have Stockton and RS Freshman Rashada and true freshman Puglisi behind him. Plus they signed two QB’s in their 2025 class. Makes me think they expect possibly Rashada or Puglisi (or both?) to hit portal after the playoffs?

If Lonergan signs with them, that’s 6 QBs on the roster even after Beck’s departure. I would think at least one will be on the move.

And it could be a courtesy visit. Dylan is from Georgia so maybe he is back home thinking why not run up the road and have a weekend. High profile visits beget more high profile visits.

As much as I dislike the Lonergan news I’m beyond passing judgment on the guy. He was 3rd option all year and would probably be the same, at best based on what we know right now, next year. I wish him the best individually no matter where he ends up. All this transfer shuffling and the timing of the windows has me pretty much on roster standby until the spring. I’ll watch the bowl game, of course, and expect to beat meat-chicken then amp up for a hopefully better campaign next year.

I want to point out few things about Ole Miss: They're snagging the players they want and it's two years in a row. I have a feeling this will blow up in Ole Miss face this time next year. If you can't recruit on the road, and you're using Portal to replace that... there's no relationship, no chemistry, no flow.

I'm starting to look at the portal like a season ending injury. Does it keep us from winning week to week then im not going to worry about it. So far we have not seen anyone rise to that level yet.

What?!?!

Smith was 100% a starter at husky, and it was a huge drop-off whenever he wasn't in the game. Dudes behind him have potential, but were no where close to where he was over the course of the season.
He’s very injury prone. That was his main weakness. Was very good when available.
