Bama Players Transferring (catch all thread)

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

DeBoer better be a great recruiter. Otherwise he will not make it. How much he knows about football is a small percentage of what CNS brought with him to Alabama.
Apparently he is, and now he needs to work on the whole communication thing and reigning in his assistants and correcting their attitudes...........I can see a few of them being cut loose. I think in the long run DeBoer will make it.........and I think Saban will help him in that regard. I think he tried to be diplomatic whereas Saban would have struck a match and set the woods on fire..........and he may have to do that himself

Good riddance to those that want to leave. Hopefully, this staff knows what they’re doing and has a plan in place. I’ll grasp this new board policy and say this: Prentice was on the field as a blocker on the wide receiver screen and whiffed on his block vs Oklahoma. That cost us a touchdown. Was that done on purpose? Think about it.

This is quite overreaction....
Exactly how? We’ve gotten players from all over the nation for a long time. Players that have grown up with this program are few and far between. They are paycheck players now. Obviously, playing for Bama doesn’t Mean what it once did. Auburn has killed us in in-state recruiting the last two years.

If there is any love left playing for a school, I would bet the players have more left playing for Alabama than most any other school. The tide (no pun intended) is receding under all college football programs right now.

Interesting. No faith in incoming freshman Asparuhov to give a scholarship to a punter.
Although, he might be a preferred walk-on, since the portal does not open till tomorrow.

Hes a transfer, not certain but I assume he smaynbe a grad transfer (rules are different and grads have been able to enter for a little while now)

I also wouldn't assume this means anything about faith in the incoming freshmen punter, but he is a freshmen.

Also this dude hit a 79 yard punt in a game that maybe traveled 65 yards in the air. Hes a take..

And yet Shepherd, the WR coach, when questioned about the ridiculous number of targets for Williams versus Tennessee, said “there was nothing wrong with that”…. 🤔

Well the problem was Williams was open all day that day but Milroe couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. So in that respect his targets weren’t the whole story. I mean Tennessee never could cover Amari either, and he got a ridiculous amount of attention by his quarterbacks in those games.

However I think this staff mostly says things in order to keep people on the team happy. You don’t really gain any real insight by listening to their press conferences.

This staff literally played nice with players all season, seemingly afraid to hurt their feelings. That does not work.

Dear Santa: Please let there be many stud offensive linemen in the transfer portal who like knocking people on their butts and want to come to Alabama. Thank you.
I think what you'll actually see is lighter, more athletic linemen portaling in.

They can still know people on their butts. Think Jason Kelsey type players. Light, but strong and fast!

As I understand it, that's the kind of OL that Deboar needs for his system.

You are spot on, I heard last week during signing day that he likes lineman with quick feet, and some dog in them, like a Michael Carroll type, he needs lineman who can pull, that's his MO

BAsically the opposite of the type CNS recruited. No wonder the offense looked cluncky this year. We didn't have the QB or OL we needed. Also, no wonder our best running play was JM running behind those road grader types.
