Well, they also got us at the right time of the season. We've had a murder row of games against ranked SEC opponents and one more, regardless of venue, proved to be too much.

Same thing that got us in 2010, I believe we faced 6 SEC teams coming off a bye

I have a question. Do we have any GREAT players on this team? Wideouts or running backs who can break an explosive play at any time? Defensive guys who wreak havoc on the other team’s offense? We ALWAYS had at least 3 of these guys every year in the Saban years.

I feel like we have many very good players, but not the great stars we became used to. So it’s not surprising most these games are a battle.

You can’t coach around a bad OL. You have to just live with it and hope they execute. Ryan Grubb is not our problem.

I’m sorry but you can absolutely make it a worse situation. The play with all four WRs lined up at the numbers with no back in for protection that led to one of the sack/fumbles was a horrible call. Horrible play design for that situation. There were more tonight.

The OL is a problem. The RBs are a problem. But he schemes right into their weaknesses at times. The talent on this offense is better than 21 points tonight. Execution problems included.

I have said it on several occasions this season, a team that can only pass is like a basketball team whose only offense is shooting 3-point baskets. If the 3s are dropping, great. If you have a cold night shooting 3s, then that team is in trouble.

Sounds exactly like the Alabama basketball team.

It will happen at some point. Hell, FSU literally won all their games and didn’t make the playoffs. The crazy thing is…it was the right call.

The Championship games have nothing to do with the regular season.

OU is one of the few teams we don’t have a winning record against. I’m convinced we are better than them but being the better team doesn’t mean you always win.

Look I'm not saying it would happen but I think there could be an argument.

Our FSU loss is so far removed from who we are as a team. Of course it will still get looked as record matters.

Our 2nd loss was to #11 who were coming off a bye.

Our 3rd loss, if it happens, would be to our biggest rival coming off a bye on the road with nothing to lose.

We've had a tougher run that just about anybody. We had a record breaking stretch of four games. Our collection of wins tops just about anybody.

The 3rd loss I was talking about was the SECCG.

If we lost to AU it’s a wrap 100%

They are awful and have no HC.

We can’t afford a 3rd loss of any kind imo.

It depends. I agree with you, lose to AU and it’s over. Lose to AU and all that progress made in year 2 is gone and you are no better off than you were at the end of the year last year.

But I’m not convinced we won’t survive a lose in the SECCG. Depends on how we lose, I think.

The offense moves the chains but doesn’t get any big plays so it makes it hard to put points on the board. When is the last long play we have had?

My problem with the playcalling is Grubb seems unwilling to craft a plan around the weaknesses of his personnel. I grant that it’s easier said than done. But he reminds me of O’Brien so much in that regard.

I’m not saying fire anyone. But I am saying without change in this regard, there will be no trophies for this coaching regime.

Well said. Grubb doesn't seem to have any plan. We go take the lead in the second running certain kind of plays. So we get a 1 point lead then he goes to something different, despite the fact OU wasn't stopping what got us the lead in the first place. I don't think he has a plan for any game. It looks like it's just, okay, let's do this, then, okay let's do that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He sure didn't seem to have a plan for tonight.

And that was also the Pack-12. The SEC is a whole different animal. And when Penix finally played a physical defense in Michigan, he was a 50% passer.
