Just thought I'd start another thread. After about 100 replies, we start seeing a lot of duplicate posts.

To start this one off, there are 4 or 5 guys who might pull the trigger between now and football season:

TE Preston Dial- looks to be leaning a little more towards Bama over FSU. Decision could come between now and probably at most 2 weeks.

CB Marquis Johnson- depending on when he takes his trip to MD, he could commit to the Tide shortly after if he still favors us.

DE Craig Marshall- Bama is his leader. He is from same HS as DJ Hall and they are good friends.

LB Charlie Kirschman- has a lot of impressive leaders. He is still sorting them out, but said, without a doubt, Alabama will make the cut and is probably at the top. He is looking to commit sometime before the season. Could help with Tebow as they are teammates, but that's not the reason he got the scholly offer.

As of today, July 6, we have 7 commitments:
CB Tremayne Coger
LB Charlie Higgenbotham
S Andy Davis
OL Taylor Pharr
OL/DL Brian Motley
WR Nikita Stover (JUCO, 3 years)
DL Jerami Holifield (JUCO, 2 years)

If we add the greyshirts from 2005, we'll have 10:
S Travis Sikes
OL Cole Harvey
S/LB Sam Burnthall

We could add another greyshirt if Michael Ricks qualifies.

If Mike Ford does go to Hargrave, we should get him back and that would make a possible 11th commitment.

TE's

I live in Biloxi, but lived in Mobile 83-2000. P.Dial is very talented. I saw 3 of his games. His dad is a Bama Fan. Dickson from OS MS. Is a superior ATH. HE IS THE BEST tE. I'VE seen in Miss./AL.IN 15 YRS. HE has soft hands. runs route & blks at d1 levels now. Also very talented DE. Also his dad played SEC /NFL FB. He likes Bama/LSU in that order. :) :)

don't forget about Hanrahan. He stated that he will enroll in the fall and grayshirt this year. He will not be a Bryant scholly guy. So that makes for 4 grayshirts so far with one more possible (Cardwell) if Ricks qualifies.

Thanks for the list, Crimson Surfer.

A couple of things:

1) Haven't we offered McDaniel, the safety from Tallahassee?

2) Isn't Jamarcus Ricks being recruited as a DT by 'Bama?

Thanks.

Hey RTO or CrimsonSurfer, what do ya'll think our chances are at resigning Ford? With another year of playing/training, I think he will be a monster. Plus, he will only have to contend with Darby for one year. Do you think he would start over Upchurch/Coffee/Sharrieff?

#1 RB in the nation to make an official visit to Bama!!!

LeSean McCoy, the #1 RB in the nation out of Harrisburg, PA is set to take an official visit to Bama per BOL!!!! Imagine signing McCoy and Ford for the 2006 rb class. That would give us Darby, Castille, Upchurch, Coffee, Sharrief, Ford, Johns and McCoy at rb for 2006 and only lose Darby and Castille for 2007. That would be on heck of a stable of RB's.

A look at the big picture tells us that Bama has a legit chance at landing the nations #1 OL, a consensus top 3 QB..rated by some as #1 in the nation, and now the #1 RB in the nation. That is one heck of a recruiting job for a team that is 10-15 in the last 2 seasons. I cannot imagine how good our recruiting will be after an 8 or 9 win season this year.

1). yes
2). yes

LB Tim Rawlinson is reporting he has a Bama offer now.

If Ford goes to Hargrave, it's probably about 99% certain he'll return to Bama. The coaches there do a good job of that.

It's hard to say who'd start out of our 4 signees for this class. A lot can happen- who picks up the offense better, who is the better blocker, and does Coffee or Sharrief turn into a Castille-type back. We won't know until we see them side-by-side.

Good catch. I was wondering if anyone actually read my links. lol I had mistakenly linked in an earlier list that wasn't updated with the latest info. I changed it to the correct list and as RTO22 said I added Rawlinson as an offer according to Bama Mag.

Ford really likes Coach Shula so I would say if he goes to Hargrave the chances are very good that he will come to Bama next year. I just hate that he did not make it this year and his recruitment will be opened back up. I would guess a large part of his decision to re-sign with Bama would depend on how the incoming freshman RBs work out and also on the 2006 RB commitments or signees. We will stay on top of this situation you can count on that.

The HC at Hargrave also puts a lot of pressure on the kids to keep their commit. He will be there with commits from UGA, UT, and the barn. If he makes it there...we get him back. If he goes JC...probably will never see him in Crimson. (Forbes)

Scout says that TE Preston Dial may be close to committing to the Tide. FSU receiving a TE committment last week may be a factor. Let's hope this is so.
