This game will be very tough, and should be a good measuring stick to see how the coaching change will manifest on the court; were Gottfried still our coach, I would feel certain Cornell's sharpshooter Wittman would go off on us, I would feel certain Dale would be driving and scoring at will on us, and I'd feel certain our offense would need luck to score steadily.

Hopefully the above will be non-issues. Intriguing battle between Green and their 7-footer.... Green struggled with solid defensive bigs last year, and this guy is just that.

I like your prediction, I'll run pretty close: 66-58

Sounds like an experienced, skilled, actually bigger team than us that's been to the tournament two years in a row. If we win it will probably be close.

From the parts I got to watch it was interesting, and fun seeing us use pressure all over the court. I love Coach Grants system, will be fun to watch once he gets his players in the system.

I saw some good things in the loss, but more things that need to be worked on then anything else.

The most depressing thing about it was how pathetic our crowd was (at least it looked that way on the internet) for Coach Grants debut. I mean the game isn't till 6 and I know not that many people are going to Starkville.

for the lack of talent we have i saw some improvements. the assist numbers were horrible. seems as though we still lack a true point guard. given the difference of systems and culture i expect a strong learning curve. i'll be able to give a better analysis of this team around mid Jan..Hillman with 6 TO's is a concern..

I was listening to the game on my way to Stark'vegas but I wasn't displeased with how we played. It seemed liked several different times the team could have quit, i.e. in past years, but they fought and actually got close to Cornell a few times before Cornell hit some clutch shots.

If nothing else it seems like the team's attitude and work ethic has improved...not to mention free throw %. I'm excited about the things to come.
