So we scheduled ourselves a bye week to take away the barns advantage. Georgia St. feels it's worth it to their fledgeling program. They need the money and exposure. The nation, the SEC and barn fans can get over it.

Maybe if the barn would quit scheduling their bye-week prior to the Alabama game every year, we wouldn't have scheduled that way.

very fortunate, actually, to get an opponent like ga state, before the big rivally game. this will give the tide a chance to play a lot of youngsters by the second quarter, and rest our best for the auburn game. makes sense to me.

Hopefully the Georgia State coaches won't play Whitney Houston's "One Moment in Time" to their football team just before they leave the locker room to play Bama. Because if they do, the GA State team will be SO FIRED UP that..... Wait a minute, did I just say "One Moment In Time"? Who in the heck would play a crummy, ridiculous, geriatric-approved song like that just before a big football game?.... Oh yes, THAT guy.

My problem is not that it is a gimme game, but who the opponent actually is. We could've picked an opponent that is a little more respectable, couldn't we have?

I realize Ga State is not much worse than Chattanooga, but at least Chattanooga has been around a while.

I think this is just a bad game to schedule given this is Ga State's first year.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnn. OK, so according to that site, we play the best OOC game in the entire country this year (Penn State) and also the worst (Ga State). I can live with that.

Regardless, we played a cupcake last year before the Iron Bowl and we still came out flat.....hopefully it will work out better this year.

Well let's consider some cupcake replacements:

1) Any team from the Big Ten.

You know if you check boards enough they are ALWAYS complaining that the SEC won't play them in road games in November. Of course if you'll actually go look at the Big Ten schedules you find the most amazing thing - THEY DON'T HAVE ANY OPEN WEEKENDS IN NOVEMBER!!! None of them - except for the LAST Saturday of the month. And no SEC team is going to give up their rivalry game played that week to go off to Bloomington or Ann Arbor.

How can we schedule a game when there's no open date?

2) Appalachian State

But I guess they're too busy beating Michigan to consider a cupcake, right?

3) Toledo

All things considered, UGA State ain't so bad. And we get a chance to put the hurt on Chicken Curry.

It would be more respectable to play App State than Ga State.
