Bama vs. Indy in the Rose Bowl - Jan. 1

Just go down the big ten standings in order. B1G is 5-0 in post season so far too.
Respectfully @GOIU, and I think another poster as already alluded to this, but the postseason bowl record by conference doesn't mean much, especially since many teams have several important "opt-outs" for various reasons, such as declaring for the draft, headed to the transfer portal, injuries, or in the case of some schools (cough, cough, ND), lack of desire to play another game. And for the record, I would be saying this even if the SEC had a better bowl record this season. This phenomenon is the result of the expanded playoff, just as Coach Saban said would happen many years ago. While an impressive bowl record is worthy of attention, it is hardly the metric by which one conference can claim superiority over other conferences.

Heads up to any Hoosiers. We are not a snack talk site. We are not a bickering site either. But we are a Bama site.
Lot not a snack talk site, smack talk site, trash talk site, etc. I’ve visited a lot of fan sites and if tidefans.com isn’t in the top two - and i don’t know who the second one would be . . . I’ll pull for Notre Dame in their bowl game.

You should do a list of the Out of Conference games during the regular season. Should look something like:

Big Ten

7-7
  • 2-1 ACC
  • 2-2 Big 12
  • 1-2 SEC
  • 2-0 PAC 12
  • 0-2 Notre Dame
SEC

13-6
  • 6-4 ACC
  • 3-0 Big 12
  • 2-1 Big Ten
  • 1-0 PAC 12
  • 1-1 Notre Dame

That's what really matters. Not bowl games where NFL calibre players are sitting out. Why people get hung up on bowl wins blows my mind lol.

Edited to include PAC12, left them out.

I don’t care about any of this stuff…it’s irrelevant to us .Here’s what matters Thursday. We need to stop the run….when that happens Mendoza is average and somehow, someway , an Alabama running back has to find their way through some creases for at least 5 or 6 nice runs to open up the passing game. That and no turnovers can bring home the win.

And those thinking two weeks rest will suddenly turn this coaching staff into Saban and sark , our backs into Henry and Ingram with Julio and smitty on the outside leading to a dominant showing, are delusional.

The last time I thought bowls were relevant was 2014. The SEC got totally pantsed by both the Big 12 and B1G in the days leading up to the Bama vs Ohio State Sugar bowl and it showed us that everyone shouldn’t rely on the schedule we played as a reason to feel confident.

Since then we kinda see either a ton of opt outs or 1 team wanting to be there and the other not wanting to be there at all. I mean we literally had 2 SEC teams and 3 B1G teams turn down the Birmingham bowl. And that’s actually a decent bowl to be in for a 5 to 7 win team.

Also I see alot of people using aTm as a reference point to say the SEC is bad…. Okay aTm and Ole Miss are by far the most overrated teams entering the playoffs. They both had 2 game schedules and both went 1-1. Alabama, Georgia, and Oklahoma were the three strongest teams in the conference and all had the hardest roads in the country. Plus aTm ended up playing one of the most loaded rosters in the country round one.

I think the truth is we don’t really know about either the SEC and B1G. I think Indiana and Ohio State are among the best teams in football but you can’t convince me that had they been given Alabama, Oklahoma, or Georgia’s schedules that they would’ve been 12-0. The SEC had really messed up scheduling and punished both Bama and Georgia.

It's funny how all the articles being written, about the playoffs, only include the Rose Bowl. I'm sure there are some out there, but I haven't seen any about the other games.
