Bama vs. Indy in the Rose Bowl - Jan. 1

It's funny how all the articles being written, about the playoffs, only include the Rose Bowl. I'm sure there are some out there, but I haven't seen any about the other games.

Didnt you hear, this Rose Bowl is a changing of the guard. New beating old.

We are the dinosaur, Indiana is the asteroid.

We shouldn't even be in this game.

Or so I hear.

I have to get off of twitter. I thought our resident B1G poster was the exception. They are ALL like that. Every dang last one of them. It’s insane the takes I’ve seen.

I’m seeing comparisons of Illinois beating UT to say Bama isn’t worthy because their record was propped up by UT who didn’t beat any FBS teams with a winning record.

I also saw one yahoo say that USCw isn’t really B1G, so the B1G is really undefeated. Lol. Can’t make it up.

I don’t know and didn’t see what happened with him to cause him to leave but for the bulk of his time I don’t really remember him coming off as braggadocious or cocky or brash or arrogant or dismissive or disrespectful.

He was for the most part a very good member here and I know met up with a lot of members in person at TF get togethers at games.

Anyway as for the IU fans they are shockingly to me more arrogant than 80s to 90s Miami fans.

I’m hard pressed to think of a game I’ve wanted to win more than this one specifically because of how crappy their fan base is acting.

Perhaps I shouldn't have structured it that way. He was a good member...for the bulk of his time. That's very true. But what I would see "between the lines", especially towards the end, that started to come through over time, is what I'm seeing on steroids (X10) on twitter. So, that's on me. I shouldn't have structured it that way.

My main point was -- for all of the "southern" bashing I'm seeing. Redneck jokes. Teeth jokes. Etc. The arrogance, the Southern-bashing, is insane. We can tease Tennessee Fans or Auburn Fans or LSU Fans -- because we are all branches of the same tree. But don't bring this "pure as ivory snow" elitist attitudes I've seen in very VERY large numbers on there...

Ignorance is Bliss as my Dad used to say!

It's times like these that the true "Bama Haters" come out of the woodwork.

They hate our biggest tradition: we win a lot!

But I wish every Bama and IU fan would understand that Bama won't win this game based on history, tradition, or because we've got 18 NCs. Neither will IU win because they are undefeated, their QB won the Heisman or their coach coached under CNS or seems to act a lot like him.

The winner of this game will be the team that brings it on game day. The team that's locked in and brings their A game will win this ballgame.

I am hearing that alot of these playoff games aren't selling out especially the orange bowl. Maybe these rounds should also be campus games?

Just remember: if we upset Indiana, the press is going with, "They wouldn't have won had the game been in Bloomington, and we need to change this up because we are punishing the teams who get a bye."

I'm not even joking.

I hope all the teams that would have been home teams lose. Every single one of them. We will definitely see a tweak to the rules after that

Working in the manufacturing and assembly industry over my career since the mid 70's I can attest to the unwarranted arrogance and superiority complex of the B1G relative states. I can also vouch for the exodus of a large contingency of that segment of the population relocating here in the Huntsville and North Alabama area that have moved here and ABSOLUTELY LOVED the area and now CALL IT HOME!

Yes, IGNORANCE IS BLISS!

I would not be a fan of home games past the 1st round.

Yeah, if you earn the bye in a field this large that's an appropriate reward.

But beyond that it gives the "higher seed" too much of an advantage, especially when the "seeding" is based on a teams record that plays in a conference that is much weaker than another.

I mean, do we really know how good Texas Tech is? However, if they were hosting a home game in the second round, it would definitely be to their advantage, given the home field and potential weather issues in West Texas in January.

I think the quarterfinals, semifinals, and NC games should be played on neutral sites because then it becomes more about the teams, not the environment.

One thing that isn't being talked about much is the fact that the pressure seems to be all on Indiana in this game. During the Saban era Alabama always had the target on its back because we were usually favored to win it all. Now Indiana is coming off the big win over Ohio State so naturally many of the pundits and Indiana fans expect them to beat us without much difficulty. Since not many expect us to win this game it's like a freeroll for us. We are the hunter and they become the hunted.

The problem is texas tech and oregon playing in miami. Not many are making that trip and spending a ton of money.
