Bama vs Oklahoma round 2 (Friday December 19th)

Supposed to be pretty chilly in Alabama next weekend so maybe we practice a little during that time.

Roll-outs, shovel passes, outlet passes. Our OL isn't going to magically get good at pass protection, so use our guys' mobility.

While we're at it, how about toss sweeps to the RBS that seemed to get 6 to 7 yards every time we used it. Hill at 240 lbs downhill is what we need to apply murderball. Where was Ty with QB design runs in the SECCG ?? They worked well against a stout barn defense. Grubb completely abandoned those plays when we need 2 or 3 yards for a first!!!

I've finally realized it's insanity to go against your prognostications ... so I, too, have Miami in the Semis.

Sooooo…….will we do anything differently as far as game planning is concerned this time around? Perhaps we’ll have the same plan, just with the codicil of “ Hey! Don’t give them the ball ! “ We have NO running game . We know it. They know it. I can’t imagine we’ll discover one in two weeks if for no other reason that we won’t suddenly discover 4or 5 O linemen who can play consistent, winning football. I would suppose that our running backs won’t get much more than a passing glance. Can we make them pay for that?

Venerables is probably the best defensive mind in the SEC and it was his D that beat us...eventually giving Kirby the blueprint. Only way we can win is to break tendencies BIGTIME. New plays, new players, scheme adjustment,,,just something they haven't prepared for from tape. Of course, it has to work also. Not sure we have the staff that can do it.

Yep, time to show off the coaching expertise. I was ranting last night about running off these great offensive minds, but I will very impressed if Deboer can get this team back to hitting on all cylinders and get the win at OU. We will definitely need to be ready to play. Let's see if we can get it done.

Yeah, everyone looked at the blitz packages OU used in the first game and they have been copying that. We have two weeks to figure out how to negate those blitzes.

lol. I good at rankings but nowhere near as good with picking games. However I did pick Ohio st to win it all last year when the bracket was revealed. But that was pretty easy with their path. I don’t have near as a great feeling about it this year however I think Miami is better than what many think and some of the SEC and B1G teams in the field are far worse.

Why are so many confident Alabama can beat Oklahoma? What about the match up favors Alabama? Not being an Eeyore, I'm genuinely interested in the Xs and Os that make Oklahoma a preferred path for Alabama.

I’ve got 2 ND fans in my friend group and they are absolutely livid. And frankly, I’m kinda in agreement with them lol. It makes no sense to flip Miami and ND when neither team played this weekend. Was purely political to save the ACC.

Probably so, but I'm glad the committee didn't sacrifice BAMA. On the other hand, I don't feel bad about ND getting left out. Anyone that's been around as long as me knows there have been many times in the past where ND got the nod over BAMA.

at least for me, because if any one of the four boneheaded plays we made vs ou, or either of the probably pick 6s that went through our hands went the other way, we'd have won that game by multiple scores
