Bama vs Oklahoma round 2 (Friday December 19th)

Agree, I just think he feels he doesn't see the toughness and grit in the program he once did.
The path is different now for these guys. High school guys get money now, there’s no reason to bust it to get to the next level. All motivation for this must be internal, and there’s not a lot of adults who have that, much less college level kids.

This. Next year (IMO) we get to see what type of coach DeBoer is. In year 2 he had times of success and times of failures. What type of adjustments is he going to make, if any? Personally, if hes going to stay employed at Alabama hes going to have to tweak his philosophy. Not overhaul it, just tweak it.

He's definitely done enough to be given a chance to adjust and fix things that hurt us this season. Next season should be interesting.
I think Ty’s injury has made it a little worse than it should be.

Something has to give on the offensive line though: developing, recruiting, communication and audibles have all been brought up and make very good points about failure in every aspect has Alabama where they are. One of those aspects rears its head seemingly every play, and its infuriating.

My one concern, and I have no inside knowledge, is that Grubbs may be very... Stubborn.

It seems like Grubbs hears or reads all the criticism about what we’re bad at, then tries to prove the naysayers wrong and it ends up making our offense even worse. Instead of calling plays to our strengths (which are already limited), he tries to force us into being a running team, and that’s just not what Bama is.

Saban had that clip leading up to the SECCG about Ty moving around so much to change the play that it gives the Def a chance to change their play ... and we did that very thing on the first play from scrimmage

AI generated, but used espn as a reference. It’s almost even in attempts. I’m not sure if this has sack yardage or not, but his overall playcalling is about 60/40 pass ( I moved it further because I think the blowouts skew it a little more to the 50/50).

I think if he would quit with the circus plays that stall drives it would be a lot different.

I think he will learn that on the East side of the Mississippi the best cornerback actually plays corner, and is not the second string receiver. Defense is a priority over here.

The East Illinois game somewhat skewed the rushing stats. Didn't we rush the ball like 70 times in that game? Lol

It got so bad for Eeatern Illinois that we were pulling people of the band to run the ball.

I thought we got rid of all the LANKers in the offseason?

I don’t know if you are making that bolded statement tongue-in-cheek. If so, ignore the rest of this post.

Sometimes I wonder if I’m living in an alternate universe. Alabama running backs had 7 carries between them in the UGA game - 7. How can anyone say that Grubb is forcing the running game?

It's just my opinion, but I'm not unhappy with the amount we run the ball most games.

My biggest beef is WHEN we run the ball. Lately, it seems, we are running more on 1st downs and getting ourselves behind the chains on 2nd and 3rd down.

It's anecdotal, but the more we run on first down, the worse our offense bogs down and has 3 and outs or short series. I think we need to go back to how we passed more on 1st downs earlier in the year.

It’s Ryan Grubb - singular, no “s”. I agree that it’s not important, as we know to whom you are referring, but it drives some of us crazy.

Please have mercy on those who care.

Ryan Grubb, Ryan Grubb, Ryan Grubb.

Thank you 😊.
There are some people on here that still can't spell our head coach's name and a lot more that cannot spell our basketball coach's name. It doesn't matter how many times people correct them.

Tied the UA record for rushing TDs in a game

In 50 years, someone's gonna see that stat and think, "That must've been a great running team!"
