Question: Bama's Jody Wright interviewed by the NCAA/ He was an assistant AD last year at MSU

First of all, I am NOT a barner so do not flame me!

One of my BARNER colleagues insists that the FBI questioned a 'Jody Wright' that is somehow involved with Alabama. Is there any substance to this?

It's supposedly true. But, here's the catch: He was an MSU guy when this all went down, so it's natural they would want to talk to him.

Jodi would have been interviewed had he been at Oregon State. He was at MSU when all this went down. Funny thing is, we're just hearing about this. The Barners been crowing for several days that he was involved. How'd they know?

I heard it on the fiebomb show. Jodi's the former asst. AD at missed st. The FBI agent who did the interview the went straight to awbarn, according to finebomb.

Hmmm, I didn't hear anything about the FBI interviewing him. This article states the NCAA did but doesn't mention the FBI.

Yes. Interview was with the ncaa ...as for barn fans knowing, I'm pretty sure they got that info from the MSU folks. Wrights name was out there a week or so ago on a couple of different boards.

Stories are getting mixed up here, no state regulator was involved, just the NCAA. Jeff Bond was interviewed by the FBI and a state regulator.

Jody Wright is a contractor for Blinn College, who was part of a three way phone call with Urban Meyer and Cecil Newton, forcing Chris Low and Clay Travis to come forward with the story.

I posted this on a friend's Facebook page suggesting that Bama was behind their issues:

I'm sure Alabama got wind of the Cam Newton situation (while NOT recruiting him by the way) and decided "...Ya know what would be cool? Let's find someone from Mississippi State, hope these rumors are true and give him a job just so we can find a way to take Auburn down."

A few notes.
1. Last March, Auburn was already down. Alabama was the National Champions. Auburn proved they could recruit, but hadn't proven they could actually coach yet. Why would Bama be so worried about that?

2. NO ONE knew Cam Newton would be doing this or how well he would preform in the offense. Auburn fans hoped this would happen, but no one really knew. Why would Bama be so afraid of a player that had proven moreso he had bad judgement than he was a great football player?

3. If Auburn did nothing wrong. why are you so worried about this grad assistant being interviewed? If you're not worried. then why point this out suggesting that he was hired because of his ties to Cam's recruitment?

I haven't heard of Jeff Bond. John Bond was interviewed though.

First I have heard of Urban Meyer mentioned at all except Auburn blaming him for getting Dan Mullen to turn in Cam Newton.

I haven't been following everything on the boards but this is something I have been wondering about. What was the recruiting of Cam Newton at Florida like? Is there any information about something different at UF compared to Miss St? Did Cam's dad get the need of money after Cam left UF? And I am not trying to start any rumors, I am just wondering if this "pay for play" is something the Newton's learned after or before his Jr. College days.
Recruitment at UF has seemed clean (no info otherwise). Urban Meyer track record is as a great recruiter. And I have great respect for the University of Florida.
I was just wondering what started the "money" talk from the Newton's. I guess I may never know but I was just thinking.
