They'ed rather see us get in trouble with the NCAA than for their own team to have a winning record!
I don't dislike Auburn tha way that you guys do, but if you think about it, this should be true. When Alabama has suffered from NCAA sanctions, Auburn has thrived. So, wishing for the NCAA hammer equates to pulling for their team.

The two most prolific Auburn runs over Bama (in recent memory) came in the 80's after the death of Coach Bryant and then during the 2000's when Bama was severely hamstrung with NCAA penalties.

So you are right in your estimation that Bama NCAA trouble helps auburn.

Why does it sometimes feel like this forum is a support group for people that have trouble dealing with Auburn fans?

Look, I don't care enough about Auburn to be bothered by anything their fans say, but come on now... picking on Auburn is like picking on an agricultural school that used to be called Alabama Polytechnic Institute. It's just too easy.

Here's how it comes across to me. Every now and Megan Fox's boyfriend comes here to complain that Roseanna Barr's boyfriend has been making fun of Megan Fox. Seriously? Someone actually needs support for this predicament?

A team that nearly lost to ULM last year is complaining about our schedule?

A team that nearly lost to Utah St two years ago AT HOME is complaining? A team that dropped a home and home with FSU - when the Noles were awesome - and replaced them with Idaho and App State?

Besides - how does our soft schedule in any way alter the butt-kicking we give them?

Let's face it: if anyone knows about soft schedules it's Auburn.

One of them tried to throw Chattanooga at me the other day when I was picking at him about Western Carolina. Then I had to point out to him how bat UTC beat Western Carolina. That put a end to that.

Playing the SEC schedule with one good BCS team as a non-conference game is about all you can ask of a team.
Sometimes you will luck out with your conference schedule, sometimes you won't, but in no case is there a need to apologize for it.

Eh...I was just bored and felt like giving Tidefans members an occasion to indulge in their hatred of the Barn. I shun to think of what would happen to us if we did not frequently remind ourselves of how much we despise them. Just look now at what I have done. Bama fans are flocking to this post spreading hate and discontent such that it makes well all up inside. I couldn't be prouder.

I assume those living in AL have to deal with barners fairly often.

Though I didn't grow up in AL, I hate all SEC teams, so hating the barners comes naturally for me.

It's funny, I don't hear that from florida fans, but I do from fsu fans. They are as bad as the barn faithful. Whine, moan, gripe about florida and how the sec and Alabama are weak, unproven.

That would have been the perfect reply.
Most of my clients (architects and general contractors) are Auburn grads, so I have to think quick on comebacks. THey used to always want to talk football, but that seemed to suddenly stop around 08 or so. The Monday after the UCLA game in 2000 when we were preseason #3, I get a call at 8am. John, do you know the difference between Bama and Dale Earnhardt? Nope. Earnhardt is still #3. I got 8 Monday morning phone calls from that client that year. Finally, around 2011 or so he asked me why I never brought up football to him. I replied that Auburn wasn't really relevant anymore, so I never think to bring up the topic. crickets chirping is all that I got back. This client and I normally take off the gloves when talking football so I knew I could get away with it.

Haha!

It's funny what fandom does to a normally well adjusted person.

I know some Bama fans are the same way.

I've got a lot of Auburn friends and, for the most part, they are rational people about life and even Auburn football.

But I know a few who, when discussing the Barn, lose all sense of normalcy.

I'm convinced that every fan base has a handful of fans that really make the rational majority look bad.

But hey, this is what is fun about our rivalry with the Barn and UT among many other SEC fan bases!

This guy and I have had great fun over the years kicking each other in the shins about football. He doesn't have the work volume he used to have, so we don't talk as often. That's the real reason I haven't been busting him about AU, we just don't talk often now.
