BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II

US Ranked 4th

After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories--Japan and Germany. The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single, equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolph Hiter said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to enhance Germany's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented " France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking they only fell to #2."

Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines.

I don't know about that, but I have heard they will pick the winner of the big12 title game since they picked the participants

Plus, Germany's loss to unranked Russia came in overtime on the road in a hostile environment after russians made a huge comeback to tie it up in the regulation on the very last play.

Lots of injuries didn't help the top ranked team in the World and the US caught them at a perfect time after their bye week.

Thanks for finally setting me straight. All of these years I have living under the false cloud of "revisionist" history.
Seriously, nice...

Also, the BCS completely overlooked Germany's 0 to 0 tie with England. Even with 100,000 miles of offense in the air, Germany failed to score.

Do people not get that the Big12 chose to include the BCS in their selection process? It's like asking a doctor to name your child then getting upset with the name they chose...

X-Zackly. I keep hearing the talking puke heads on ESPN whining, complaining that the horrible BCS chose Oklahoma. The BCS committee had NOTHING to do with choosing OK. That choice was made by the Big 12 in its rules for determining tie breakers. The BCS had absolutely NOTHING to do with it. But, dudden matter, the talking KNOW IT ALL ESPN crews have all the answers and everyone else is wrong. Kinda like the MSM is always so right about everything.

Not so fast, my friend.

BCS voters clearly changed their votes to influence who would play in the Big 12 CG. It was not the BCS' fault that they were played, but they were - of that there is no doubt. So the BCS did have something to do with choosing OU.

Unintended consequences and all that...
