I'm not a "laptop person" - I like desktops. In my line of work I don't need to "stay connected" while on the job. However at some point I will probably get myself a tablet of some kind for certain advantages.

My daughter and I built a raspberry pi computer last year for giggles. Not a refined product like what you have, but still phenomenal to see where tech has gone.

Not sure if you've thought site it, but that thing is the definition of portable. Plug it up to your tv in your hotel room, wherever.
