During a breakin on the game today Tim Brando was discussing the Heisman and he said he belives C J Spilliner of Clemson is the leader.

Tim lives in the Baton Rouge area and is a LSU fans and hates Bama.

C J had 58 yards rushing and around 39 recieving one TD against Virginia.

Tim had a radio show a few years ago and at nite I can pick it up AM 870 and I know for a fact he doesn't care for Bama, but he is entitled, he is a sportscaster not sure he has a vote.

if ingram doesn't win, gerhardt from stanford should.
Put Gerhardt in the SEC and he doesn't even finish in the top 3 in rushing yards. He's a quality running back but this is the Heisman Trophy. Same reason I don't think Case Keenum has a case (no pun intended).

Oddly enough, I don't think we've had a true standout this year aside from Ingram. But I think Colt McCoy will win to complete the Tebow-McCoy-Bradford triumvirate. Hard to say what the voters think but with so many sportswriters getting votes, Ingram's chances go down, in my opinion.

Always liked Brando until today. For him to throw that out there in such a subtle way showed his true colors. I thought he hid them for a long time. Does Spiller do what he does in the SEC? Maybe 75/80%. I think Spiller is a very good player but he is not Mark Ingram. The three easy games this year Mark played very little. He could have easily gotten another 300 yards if he plays much of those games. Look at the yards after contact and yards per carry and like I said most of his yards are against SEC and Virginia Tech.:BigA::BigA::BigA:

C.J. Spiller doesn't even have comparable stats to Dexter McCluster. They both play on 8-3 teams too. So, I don't understand the love for C.J. Spiller, in terms of the Heisman. Sure, he's a highlight reel, but I wouldn't put him in the same category with Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, Mark Ingram, and Toby Gerhardt.

Spiller should not even be considered.
If we're going on stats, Tebow may be the most over-rated player in the country this year. If Mark finishes out with just a couple of decent games, and doesn't win, it will be time to start asking some questions.(And banning Tim Brando from ever coming on the Finebaum show again.)

Spiller plays on a mediocre team, thus his chances are slim to none. If he were on an undefeated team he'd almost certainly be right in the thick of it.

i don't disagree with you on the SEC part but Gerhardt leading a team with a run at the Pac-12 title and the rose bowl. they beat #24 washington. consecutive weeks they hammered #7 oregon and #11 usc. he had a good game last night against cal, on national tv. next week should be a blowout win against nd, again on national tv. he should carry the west coast vote (i would think). he's done as much as anyone else to this point leading his team. in my mind gerhardt is easily ahead of mccoy and tebow. again, if MI doesn't win, my vote is for gerhart.
IMO, the SECC is for the Heisman. winning team gets the trophy.

I agree, think McCoy wins it since he is a senior, has some good numbers, and will be in the BCSNC game.

If Mark plays lights out against Auburn and Florida I think he will win. That is provided that Bama wins as well. I still think a lot of voters want to vote vote for St. Timmy so bad it hurts.
Agreed...and if he turns out to be the big reason we win both of those games by huge performances, I think he is a lock; McCoy falls out of the running this week after the A&M game.

Frankly, I believe the Big 12 is killing McCoy's chances. That league sucks. Their defenses suck and the voters are getting to see just how bad those secondaries really are. When they play a defense the playstation stats end.

I feel the Bama defense may very well decide if Mark wins the Heisman almost as much as his performance will. If they go out and rock Tebow's world then he is done. In contrast if he single-handedly runs them over he will be posing in NYC again. That said, Mark and Tebow will be center-stage to the nation next week, and go head-to-head the following week. It's like the Final Four of the Heisman.

For McCoy to win I think both would have to have stagnant games against both their rivals, and then in the championship, and I don't think anyone can say that these two tremendous talents will be "non-factors" for the last two games.
