The Braves traded Edgar to the Tigers for a couple of prospects. Sensible move considering Renteria's contract and the emergence of Yunel Escobar.

I would have liked to see them acquire a slam-dunk starting pitcher for Renteria. Renteria will be missed, he is an awesome player. Looks like a good trade, though. Maybe we have our lead-off guy/CF and a pitcher for the future.

edit: BTW I bought an Andruw Jones jersey and a Renteria jersey at clearance at the stadium at the end of the season. Both players gone. Heh, doesn't matter.

Renteria was a very good player for the Braves but I don't think there's anyway they could've gotten a front end starting pitcher for him. JMHO. From the sounds of it the pitcher they did acquire may make the starting rotation for them next year however so that would be nice provided he turns out good. The other guy is supposed to be a pretty good outfield prospect, so I think they did pretty good in this deal for Renteria.

Maybe you can take the jerseys back and ask for a refund! J/K ;) :biggrin2:

Yunel Escobar is at least the equal of Renteria. He was awesome in edgars absence.Im looking foward to seeing more of him at SS.Edgar is a solid ML SS and will make the Tigers a better team if he adjust to the AL.He didnt like his last trip there with Bos.

Curt Schilling could be headed to Atlanta.......He's a slam dunker for sure.

They're saying on the radio that Glavine to ATL is extremely likely. I would like to see Schilling and Glavine fill out the rotation, but what the heck are we going to do in two years when all of our pitchers are retired?

I don't see Schilling coming to Atlanta unless he's willing to come at a reduced salary. Not to mention I'd rather see them get someone who would be around for more than one season.
