We get a rookie starting his first game at pitcher tonight. Didier Fuentes.
Kid has electric stuff. His success in the minors has been a touch erratic, but when he's on, he'll be hard to handle.

I don't mind it, especially against the Marlins, because it would be good to know if he's got the juice in case we need him. With Smith-Shawver already on the shelf for the year, the front office can't feel good about the odds of us getting through the rest of the season with the five current starters remaining healthy.

Heck, Sale won the Cy Young last year but was still too banged up to pitch in the Wild Card series.

Yep, it is another smart move. And it sets up the Mets series again the way we want it.
