Re: Browns OC Norn Turner Sees Shades of Emmitt Smith & LT in Trent Richardson

I saw LT in your thread title and immediately thought Lawrence Taylor. I was thinking, wow, I know Trent is a beast but Turner actually thinks he could play and dominate at OLB? Isn't he a little short for that?

And then I saw LaDainian Tomlinson. I hope that Turner can help turn that offense around. I didn't really keep up with the draft that much, other than to see where the BAMA players went, so I don't know if they improved their talent on offense or not.

TR improved their O in spades when he is healthy. I always pictured Ingram as an Emmitt Smith clone.

Nope, their offense is basically just Trent. Mind you, Trent made a huge impact on their offense, he personally accounted for a big rise in scoring, but they've done nothing to build around him from what I can tell.

Norv was a very mediocre head coach, but has always done a great job as an OC. I hope he can get the Browns' offense on track.

Agreed. There had to be something the motivation/organization side of things that he couldn't quite grasp. But he knows X's and O's.

Hope they don't wear him into the ground giving him too many carries, and eventually find some other offenses pieces to help him out.

I was hoping Cleveland could get Chance Warmack to help with their running game but no such luck. They have good tackles just not guards.

A QB would help in that regard. Especially since Norv tends to be pass happy. Or, maybe it was because he had Troy Aikman to work with.

I've never seen another back that could move a pile like Trent, and that includes Bo and Herschel.

Norv Turner is the Mike Shula of the NFL.

i thought Trent did fine last year, he just rarely had a hole to run through. He had plenty if highlights and broke Jim Brown's rookie TD record. I think he will do just fine as a pro.

It was the franchise record for rookies...but still a record of Jim Brown's broken. I think Eric Dickerson has the NFL record for rookies.

Have they built a decent oline yet? Didn't Trent get hit in the backfield an AWFUL lot last year?

I'm with you. Taylor comes mind way before Tomlinson does

Re: Browns OC Norn Turner Sees Shades of Emmitt Smith & LT in Trent Richardson

We were blessed to have meet Trent, he is my wife's favorite player of all time. He is just a really smart, nice & polite young man. I hope he has a Great career at Cleveland.

I have never liked the Browns & JB surely did not welcome him in at all. Now having the team in the hands of a 10rc man makes it even harder.

Turner may not be the greatest head coach but the knows offense & already seen Trent's talents. I just hope they don't have hum beat to death by the end of the season.

Herschel was in another league just because he did 1,000 push-ups a day and anybody tackling him probably ever touched a weight. Herschel was a man among boys.
