Anyone have any idea the best places to stay near the stadium?

We are thinking about going down to the Keys the weekend before and driving up for the game. So don't really need to be near the beach and would only be one night. Never been to Miami so don't want to get in the bad part of town.

Well let me put it this way. I called to modify my reservation and they were all booked up already. So better jump on it fast whatever you decide. Needless to say, i just kept the reservation i made. And the other poster will be the one complaining about not being able to get a room later when Bama makes it there. 😉

I was told by someone who grew up in Miami to stay away from the Carol City area, the Hialeah area, 27th Avenue and anything near the stadium. It looks like the stadium is almost between MIA and FLL and the flights right now are much cheaper to FLL. I have two reservations depending on if we really make it there and if I get tickets. I booked at a Marriott off the Intercoastal and A1A in Ft. Lauderdale and also one closer to the FLL airport (if I have to fly out early the next a.m.)

I booked the week before the State game and at that time they still had no penalty for cancellations up until the day before arrival. I would imagine pretty soon all hotels will start locking in those days and require prepayments and penalties. Good luck and hope to see you there. :)

Thanks! Just a quick look and FLL is about $40 cheaper for a round trip non-stop.

Just an FYI, Dolphins Stadium is located in Miami Gardens, Fl. I've never been to that area, but I have been to South Beach several times. Be prepared to dig deep into your pockets if you stay in South Beach for hotels, food, cocktails and clubs. Ft. Lauderdale is 30-45 min from Miami and is more reasonable and also very nice. This is where I plan on staying IF we make it :cool2:

I have a former coworker that relocated to Boca last year. We do have a place to stay! Should we be fortunate enough to get tickets, I doubt that will happen since I don't even have a shot with my 191 TT points.
