BREAKING Buchner to start- per reports

Honestly, I've never liked this concept. I can only think of one time it ever worked well and the player that it worked with was Tim Tebow when Meyer used him like that when Chri Leak was the QB.

The reason I don't like it is IF JM comes in the game EVERYBODY in the stadium knows it's probably a running play OR a deep ball. If everybody knows that, so does the defense.

If TB is deemed the starter, just play him. JMO.
I agree, but it also worked great fro mark ingram against south carolina and abound that year

Haha, well we had great line play that year and Ingram was a Heisman winning RB. It wasn’t like SC didn’t know every single play was going to be a run play. They just couldn’t stop it. We just ain’t that team anymore.

This just reminded me of Vlachos at C

He was undersized as well but was just a Pitbull looking to Steamroll a D Lineman.

Those 2008-09 guys were a bunch of 3-stars playing like 5-stars... Tons of Grit and Heart.

This was the biggest overall issue I think last week. His demeanor and feel for the game permeated throughout that offense. I'm sure they could see it in the huddle. Hes not that calming QB like Hurts.
Probably where the player’s anxiety came from. They had to know it was going to be a rough day last week.

There were a couple of times when he stepped out of bounds instead of lowering his head and taking on a defensive back. He’s a good sized guy and he missed opportunities to make a statement. That’s the type of thing that can spark a team. The heck with sideline demeanor.

There is that. But also other teams are getting better. There's more good players these days. It's a parity thing. We're still a talented team, but other teams are as well. More so than 12 years ago. And coaching across the board has improved.

Maybe it's time to let Lonergan get some play time in. I keep hearing how good he is. Maybe all he needs is some game experience.

Sometimes you just can't stop a play, even when you know it's coming. And it wouldn't be like one dimensional. They'd still have to watch for pass or run. Milroe can still be a dangerous weapon. They just need to find a way to use him.

FYI, Will is coaching for the WKU Hilltoppers. Worth keeping an eye on. Great kid with a great heart. Seems to be a pretty good coach too.

I honestly don't know how TB will do, but he may surprise us tomorrow..........I think his turnover issue might be behind him
I think he will still throw pics - but I think he’ll be able to find the open receiver and complete the pass, and take off when no one’s open.
JM wasn’t accurate with his passes and his reads just didn’t seem to ever progress. All QB’s have wide open receivers that they don’t see sometimes- it happens, for various reasons. But I think TB has enough game experience to use Saturday to settle in, then we’ll see if he’s got what it takes against OM.

I don’t understand how a big majority of the talking heads, many of which played quarterback like Tebow, continue to say Milroe wasn’t the problem. It’s well established at this point that our line didn’t play well, but to act like it’s a head scratcher why someone would start over Milroe today blows my mind. Buchner should have started the second half of the Texas game to be honest

They have learned from Finebaum to just spout off with hot takes that get you noticed rather than apply logic. Pin head has made a career out of it.
