It was new year's in new orleans, and all through the South,
All those Miami Hurricanes were running their mouths.
They strutted and crowed, "We're the best in the land."
The Tide don't have a chance, "We're in command."
They bragged, "We'll run Bama out of the Sugar Bowl."
That is, till Proctor's field goal put them in the hole.
Miami still believed, "This will be a piece of cake."
Then they looked in the end zone and saw the Sherman Shake.
They were still cocky and saying, "We're still gonna win."
They couldn't believe their eyes when Derrick took it in!
Miami had bragged, "Bama's not in our league."
"In your face, Gino" yelled big old George Teague.
Gino was rattled, when he would drop back to pass,
Bama had him so confused he would fall on his a--.
Then Miami was streaking for a comeback score,
Until Teague ran him down and slammed the door.
They ran back the punt and thought, "It's not too late."
But then Lassic scored again and sealed their fate.
At the end of the game there was a thunderous cheer,
And a drenched Gene Stallings had a grin ear to ear.
Miami's mascot was lying face down--looking dead,
Big Al was prancing and standing on his head.
For Bama fans, this game will forever be a classic,
Thanks to guys like Curry, Copeland, Teague and Lassic.
I'm not saying Bama won the game with ease,
But Miami's famous Hurricane was barely a breeze.
In the end for Miami, there was not place to hide,
They were thoroughly whipped by the Mighty Crimson Tide?
