Question: Buying LSU game tickets in Baton Rouge??

I'm contemplating a trip to Baton Rouge without tickets in hand. Can anyone offer a guess as to the availability of tickets outside the stadium? The last time I was there (1996) I actually had an extra ticket, and was trying to sell it. Tickets were very scarce, and I was openly accosted by an LSU fan when I tried to sell the ticket for more than face value. While the LSU guy was making a scene and actually trying to persuade a nearby cop to arrest me for scalping, an Alabama fan approached me and we struck a quick deal and went into the stadium. I've always heard talk that scalping was "illegal" at some places, but that's as close as I've come to seeing it put to practice on gameday. Was my experience normal for Baton Rouge, or will tickets be as available as they normally are at BDS?

i have been two or three times and have never had tickets before i went. We have always managed to find tickets. but from what i remember they are no where as near as available as they are at bryant-denny...i would guess because of the scalping law. but we have always found them.

one time we had ALOT of people and no way were we getting them all together, so we were just trying to get everyone in the gate. my aunt bought a ticket from someone and after she bought it we noticed it was for the UAB game that year!!!!! the person at the gate didnt' even notice lol.

i plan on going this year, haven't decided yet if i'm going to try and get tickets before we go....sure would like to be in the bama section!

You will be able to find them, at a price.

Two years ago we waited till the Bama bus pulled up and went to
gate where they were going in and Bama fans were selling them all
around us. I picked up four then.

I've paid the gate gaurd $25 to get in right after kickoff twice. I was with a Tiger fan who knew the ropes. Tickets are hard to get at the stadium.
