Looks pretty bad. Reminds me of when Hurricane Fredrick hit. It was a tropical storm instead of a hurricane by the time it hit the campus. Your pictures look worse than the damage I can remember from that storm. Ouch!

I pray that no one was seriously hurt.

These pictures must have been taken around noon or after. It was considerably worse early this morning. The largest tree in the President's lawn fell across the driveway and over the round flowerbed coming to rest on the railing on the front right steps of the mansion. Of the dozens of trees down this one was the largest. It was a perfectly healthy tree that pulled the roots completely out of the ground when it came down around midnight. Two oak trees next to Denny Chimes were also completely destroyed and cut down. It was a mess but the grounds keepers had more than a 100 working all day. Amazingly, it will all be cleaned up by this weekend.

Work crews started as soon as it was safe last night to begin working.
