When I was in HS, a friend of mine and I were checking some trot lines at night when about a two pound bass jumped into the boat. It was dark and we didn't see it happen. All we heard was something hit the bottom of the boat and a kind of bumping/rustling sound. We were under some trees, so our minds went straight to SNAKE. Made for a tense few seconds until I was able to get the flashlight on our visitor. But in the end, hey, free bass!

I guess the carp are teaching the catfish how to fly:eek2:

Oh Lawd, another fisherman. "The fish was biting so good they wuz practically jumping in the boat!!"

Know what fishermen and old maids have in common? They're always talking about the one that got away.

Here's the best part of that story. About 15 years later, I overheard my friend who was in the boat that night telling somebody about it. That bass had magically grown to SIX pounds!

I only said it was "about two pounds" because it was clearly bigger than one pound. It was probably closer to 1 & 1/2 pounds.

That bird of prey in the vid needs a good dose of #6 shot! Well, if folks in Australia could own a weapon. ;) Seagull dropped a used condom on my sister in law back several years ago when she was laying out at the pool down at orange beach. :eek2:

Actually, I believe you. A similar thing happened to an uncle of mine (now deceased) on the Coosa River about forty or fifty years ago. I don't know the weight of the bass, but it was big enough that he had it mounted.
