CFN: Alabama vs Oklahoma: College Football Playoff Preview and Pick

I can see OU winning scoring 23 points but I dont see us making 2 fgs in this game.

I see us winning 24-23.

I know he didn't play about EIU, so I thought he might be nursing an injury.

I think he's our best player on the offensive side, so I sure hope he shows up in the game plan against OU!!!

I obviously want Bama to win but I haven't seen anything in the last 4 games that would tell me Bama is going to beat OU, please don't hate me Bama nation OU 27 - Bama 13 (I truly hope I'm wrong)

Just curious, but how does OU get to 27? Do you think we gift them 17 points again? Because otherwise, they’re not moving the ball very much against the defense and if they do, it’ll result in a FG most likely..

Well it seems like either the offense for Bama shows up or the defense does. The few times both have showed up in the same game we looked like a top 5 team. Again, I haven't seen in the past month that we have outplayed our competition nor have I seen the offense and defense show up in the same game and play well for an entire game.

I'm not sure what you mean by shocked but your opinion is your opinion. You can say what you mean don't be coy about it. Speak up and spit it out. I have been a Bama fan since 1985 and as far as I see it, Bama fans don't wear rose colored glasses and tell it like it is because we act like we have been there before.

I don't like saying Bama might lose, but again Bama fans aren't delusional because we typically have common sense, look at these forums over the past month, were honest if nothing else. Id love to see Bama turn it around in 12 days since the UGA game, but it typically doesn't work that way.

Not really. I purposefully made about the most respectful post I could because I knew people wouldnt be happy about saying Bama would get outscored. And as I figured someone had to post something passive aggressive. That is the reason for being "worked up" as you say.

IDK about other forums but here at Tidefans, I believe our community is better than that. The title of this thread is "College Football Playoff Preview and Pick". If we wanted a thread where you could only pick Bama to win it would be called "College Football Playoff Preview and How Much is Bama Going to Win By."

You a HOF here at Tidefans (which means you have lots of posts). I guess I just expect more from our community.

I understand and I certainly don't like that I am not the most high on Bama at the moment. All I have to go on is the team play as of the last few games and it is concerning. As I mentioned when Bama's defense and offense show up in the same game were a top 5 team. It just hasn't happened consistently this season, especially the last 3 games against OU, Barners, and UGA.

No hard feelings at all, thank you for offering your thoughts.

That's never the problem.

The problem is the fans who take the mythical Bama fatigue and impose it on SELECTION COMMITTEES, who have almost to a fault been quite generous with us.

"We can't even lose a game 'cause if we leave it up to committee, the Bama fateeg is weal!!!"

I never said anything resembling that, or anything at all about the committee. I agree that the committee has been very generous to Alabama and, in fact, I wouldn’t have faulted them had they left us out this year.

As you know, my comments about bama fatigue were specifically concerning Pete Fiutak’s categorization of Oklahoma’s mid-season schedule gauntlet as “real, unlike Bama’s ‘gauntlet’”, when factually, they were essentially the same gauntlet. If anything, Alabama’s gauntlet was a smidge tougher.

Bama fatigue is not mythical. There are countless who are sick of hearing about bama, and are all too eager to discredit it for its actual accomplishments. Now if you want to insist that it’s a myth that the committee is guilty of it, I’ll agree with you. But if you want to insist that it’s a myth that many college football fans and sportswriters are guilty of it, we’ll have to agree to disagree.
