Oklahoma's defense will step up in a big way, and Alabama will have a hard time moving the ball early on, but the defense will manage to lock down hard on Sooner quarterback John Mateer as the game goes on.

The Bama passing game won't be consistent. It'll have to take the midrange throws that are there and find a rhythm, and then, midway through the second half will come that one big play that finally opens it up just a smidge.

Bama will win, but it'll work for it.

Oklahoma vs Alabama Prediction: The Curveball SEC and CFP Showdown

I’ll take it!

I have a bad feeling about this game.

More specifically, I have a bad feeling that Grubb is going to run Jam up the gut for no gain 25 times.

I think we'll need a NOT or two to pull this one out.

I am going to go against the grain here. Many seem to think that we desperately need a ground attack vs. Oklahoma. I respectfully disagree. Last season, the Sooners ganged up on the LOS, took away the run, and dared us to pass. The problem was Milroe. Great kid, lousy passer. He had 11 completions in 27 attempts for 164 yards with 3 interceptions. Oklahoma cannot dare Ty to throw. If Ty reverts to form and they crowd the LOS he will rip them apart and THEN we will run successfully.

Given the way our defense is shaping up, I'm looking at an admittedly optimistic:
Crimson Tide 37 - Sooners 17

ROLL TIDE 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My gut on this one, and over the next few weeks, says we surprise even ourselves with a dominant, decisive performance on Saturday followed by a let down on the plains. Of course I hope not! That’s just how things seem to be setting to me.

Well, I'm going to go with Bama 31 - 21. My big hope is Ty does better as well as Jam. I'm not as worried about the Defense, but we can't have a lot of 3 and outs on Offense or they will tire quickly. I just hope Grubb doesn't get "too cute" in the play calling and lead us to disaster.

I am concerned that Ty is putting too much pressure on himself. If we can give him time to throw he should put 300 yards plus on these guys. Big if. Otherwise, I am going to go through another pack of Rolaids.

I do note their victory in Knoxville was more about Tennessee giving the game away.

ever since the loss to FSU, every game is a must win!

This is a big test for the entire program for me.

We are in the exact same situation as last year at the same juncture.

Beat OU and secure a spot in the SECCG and likely a Spot in the CFBP.

Lose to OU and jeopardize all season goals.

We need to beat AU anyway but we absolutely don’t want to leave our season goals up to them in JH.

We HAVE to beat OU at home.

I'm not worried - this team has fought in every game save FSU. They fight for 60 minutes, which last year's team did not do in Norman (and a few other games).

The Tide's gonna ROLL!
