Game Thread: CFP Quarterfinals- Wed. Jan. 1 (ESPN)

Alabama was the beneficiary in 2011 and 2017 as well.

Yes but:

1) we didn’t get handed two cupcake games for losing; in fact, everyone seems to forget that if LSU had LOST to Arky or UGA it would have eliminated US

2) there were TWO teams in 11 and losing was technically only to our advantage AFTER Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Boise, State, and Oregon all lost their games.

3) we had one loss, Ohio State and Penn State had two losses which used to be enough to knock you completely out.

I get the argument that it was to our advantage to lose, but way too many other things had to happen to turn that into an advantage. We didn’t suddenly get to play the Clemson team that gave up 70 points to West Virginia followed by Boise while LSU had to play Oklahoma State.

Just now catching up on yesterday’s scores.

I think the main thing we’ve learned is that the CFBP should only be 8 teams at most.

Glad to see that at least ASU showed they deserved a seat because every other team that got in because of the Byes and Auto bids got WAXED.

Congrats to B1G and the Buckeyes.

I thought they would win but that it would be closer.

They look unstoppable right now.

It’s going to be hilarious for a BlueBlood to win the whole thing BECAUSE they expanded the field.

Change 8 to 4 and with no disrespect intended to anyone, the Final 4 ought to be Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame and either Texas or Ohio State, probably the latter.

And all the other riffraff should be playing “meaningless” bowl games with 30 sitouts.
