Bama Game Thread: CFP Selection Show details (12p-4p EST ESPN): Times, where to watch; Selection show 'game thread'

I don't really blame the committee for leaving us out. Truth be told, I'm not so sure we belong.

But we're more deserving than several of the garbage teams they put in. And ASU and Boise with first-round byes??? It's like the committee made a concerted effort to turn this into a disaster.

I won't be watching a single minute of this trainwreck.

To be fair, i have been saying I doubt we make it in with three losses.
I said when this format was announced that 3 loss team should not get in unless there are not enough 2 loss teams.

That game in Norman ****** me off so much. How could this team, with everything in their control, win and you’re in, come out and look so pathetic. Shows how mentally weak this Bama team is.

So what are we looking at for a bowl game.

Will be interesting to see the teams approach to the game do we have opt outs, are they looking for a statement win, or do the coaches want to take this time to prepare next years guys.

Bama had crap team on its schedule this year. Two of those won.
No, they didn't. Only people who don't understand SoS would say this.

Oklahoma was the #3 Big 12 team last year. Their losses all came against good teams this year (#1 SoS).

Guess what happens when a good team plays a good team? A good team loses, I don't know why this is so hard to understand.

The committee doesn’t have control over the byes. They just rank 1-25.

Neither of those teams are that bad. To me, crap would be a 3-4 loss team. If you play in the SEC and have 6 wins or more, then you are respectable. Not the best by any stretch, but respectable. Vandy pushed a lot of good teams to the brink this year. They were bound to win one of them, and we just so happened to be the one. As for Oklahoma, they have a very good defense, and that's what ultimately won them the game. Both of those teams would win 8-9 games on an ACC schedule.

What Coach Saban is saying right now is so true. SMU should have never been 8. The problem is that the committee probably doesn't really factor in strength of schedule in the early rankings, and then gets stuck with this result. Instead, SMU and Indiana were just quietly rising in the polls and then it becomes too late to knock them down far enough.
The ranking system is flawed as a whole. If you are ranked early on in the season you have advantage to start. Pre season polls even before we see a team play is dumb. The same with this the playoff rankings it boxes you in too much. Just say these are the top teams we have in it now but don’t give there rankings. Your either listed as in or out.
