I can't see him getting any more reps than he's been getting. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a good shot but it's mighty difficult to play him in place of Mark or Trent.

But I'm a big Upchurch fan and I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a big play on a screen pass or short route over the middle.

I don't think we're talking "instead of" Mark or Trent, but rather, "along with" them, et al. :biggrin2:

I remember watching Roy when he was a star player for Godby High here in Tallahassee. He ran like his pants was on fire and just loved contact. You could almost see the linebackers flinch once he got through the D-Line, they knew he was 'bringing the pain.

If the refs can stay out of his way, yes. I think this is a perfect game for him to tear it up. And like someone else said, he's a sound blocker. That can't be overstated.

If he does get the ball, and by some unlucky miracle, another ref is in his way, I hope he puts his helmet in the dudes face. I literally cursed the last dude out when I saw it happen...again.

Yeah, i definitely agree with you about the refs getting in his way, but i have a feeling this might be partially Roy's fault. the refs are there on every single play in every single game, maybe he should know by know where they are. Either way though i want to see Roy run wild on the LSU defense:BigA:

Can we move him to TE? :eek2:
He saw time at FB last year and did well - makes us very flexible and dangerous out of that formation. Whatever the case, Roy has been a great player and person for our Alabama team and I look forward to seeing a lot more of him as the season continues.

Good luck Roy, stay healthy, and have fun out there. :)

i was wondering if we will bring him back in that way. it would be nice to have ingram/upchurch or richardson/upchurch in at the same time.

I enjoyed him looking to unleash some pain on that VA Tech dude in week one, Roy just went looking for him!

Roy gets the ball and runs with bad intentions - and I don't just mean his desire to find the endzone. We need some of that attitude infused into our offense against LSU...

i just cant understand why Roy doesn't get more playing time. hes extremely productive and the coaches have to love his physical play. perhaps its due to the lingering injuries he has had but does anybody else think there might be something else behind the scenes keeping him from getting more carries?

Limited mobility=limited action.

Roy is extremely valuable on 3rd down and long. His production and Peek's absence have really hurt our offense in my opinion.
