Chris Fowler stunk it up

It seemed that at times they were so wrapped up in themselves they forgot to actually watch the action ( or lack of ) on the field. They need a lot of work. Also has Holtz gone off the deep end?

Chris Fowler was so bad I almost longed for the Dave(s) from Jefferson Pilot. Almost!:)

Wow, now that's saying something!!! I would definitely not go to that extreme! I guess I'm one of the few that didn't seem to notice how bad he was. Maybe it was because the game sucked so bad that I just didn't care, who knows!

I have been quite vocal in my dislike of Chris Fowler. I dislike him as anchor for the Gameday crew. He has the personality of a turnip, the football knowledge below the average Joe and no stage presence at all. He would be best left to doing horse races and commercials. Chris Fowler, not Lee Corsoe is the real blemish at ESPN, even worse than Granny Holtz.

Tell us how you REALLY feel, bayou. :biggrin2:

Don't forget there's another announcer that is probably worse than any of them - Eli Gold . Absolutley terrible and completely void of any knowledge of the game .

RTR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:BigA:

I don't care what anyone says Mark May is the worse by far. Doesn't he look like the kid in the wheel chair on malcom in the middle. when he starts talking I turn the channel his voice is like finger nails on a chalkboard

Man u nailed that on the head!!! It was bugging me too because I knew he looked like someone else. Now I hate the weezing kid in the wheelchair too... thanks alot....

Wow, there is some ESPN hatin' going on in this thread! Curious, if most people on here don't like the analysts on ESPN, then what do you watch for you're college info? I'm not necessarily married to the idea of getting all of my info from ESPN, but what else is there? I don't like local sports shows and FSN is not always great. I don't have any strong feelings for or against anyone on ESPN (except maybe Holtz :mad2:; never hated him as a coach but he has no clue what to do on camera), and I'm surprised at the number of people who dislike their analysts. So, if not ESPN, then what?

I don't think it's so much that folks WANT to dislike ESPN. I think it's more like they realize how good it COULD be without all the talking heads who are mainly interested in trying to pimp themselves.

Oh, another one I can't stand is Stuart Scott. He's a middle-aged man trying to appear cool by using street jargon. It's neither cool or compelling, it's just stupid.

Fowler is just a pretty boy on there for window dressing. I actually like Corso although he can be annoying at times. Kirk Herbstreet would be a really good analyst if he could just get over Ohio State. How he could even think the U has a greater atmosphere than say LSU at night?

It's amazing they all harp on about Bama replacing 7 on D but hardly anyone says anything about the supposed No. 1 team in the nation replacing 9 on D.

I like Mark May all of the sudden (has nothing to do with him picking us to finally beat AU this year:) ).

I didn't mean to start a HATE ESPN thread. I was just surprised Fowler wasn't better prepared. He has been on the air long enough to switch roles easier than what he did Thursday night. There were some rookie mistakes, yes. But.....there were also mistakes that someone that has been in the "business" as long as he has shouldn't have made. Hope he improves vastly.

I agree Fowler is very arrogant. I heard an interview with him recently. He was talking about the women always looking him over. Huh. Trust me Chris, if you're walking with Kirk Herbstreit they ain't looking at you. :biggrin2:
