I try not to be to critical and stay positive, but -
The coaching staff needs to quit reading this forum. If they are then here are some suggestions they are going to probably try anyway.
1. Look at your batting order. Our 2-3 hole hitters have struck out about a third of the time. Right now we have about five spots that are struggling to produce results.
2. Take a look at pitch calling. We seem to preach pound the zone so why don't we pound the zone what the pitchers have working at that particular time.
3. Stay positive and make sound coaching decisions that are meant to improve our chances to win.
I won't call players out by name but at times players may need to sit a game or two to get their focus back. Smith sat a couple games and now he's seems to be playing better. Maybe a game or two with miller in left or right and Carlisle at dh or of might help. Maybe Goodson or dye could give us a spark. Maybe cujen at 2b or 3b could jump start us. The coaches have a lot of options, and are probably looking at some of the above mentioned ones not because they are mentioned here but because they are viable.
But if the coaches take my advice they didn't read far enough to get the options. We will get back to solid fundamentals soon. I am still a supporter. Rtr
