  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Trying to predict what these ADs are going to do is insane. I hear Finebaum and all the other talking heads trying to put the various pieces together and I just shake my head. I Suppose they do it for ratings. Think back and go figure. Napier to Florida??? Jimbo to aTm and give him Fort Knox to boot??? Franklin to Penn State??? I could go on and on listing hires that make us go bang our head against the wall. Some hires this year will catch us by a big "what are they thinking" cartoon moment of bewilderment.
This stuff is manna from heaven for the Finebaum’s of the world.

I don't think it has as much to do with Schuman as it does they don't have the same level of talent as they did in their two NC years. Players matter, we've seen it with our team and it can be seen across college football. You just don't see teams stacked with talent any longer.
The Eagles got smart and started drafting those Georgia and Bama boys.

But, I think the argument could be made that if you removed Brock Bowers from Georgia's two NC teams in '21 and '22, they might not have won either!

He was be biggest non-QB difference maker I remember on a team since Derek Henry.

As much as he's talked about in relation to Kalen DeBoer's success on a national scene, I could easily see a smaller P4 team taking a shot at him. If I'm UCLA, Grubb would be on my list. My god, they hired Deshaun Foster as their HC. LOL! If he wants to be a HC he won't be at Alabama long, especially if his offenses at Alabama keep doing what it's been doing.
Amassing 70yds of rushing a game? 😝 I kid I kid.

I could be biased from his original hire as our OC where he left for the Seattle job like 3 days later, but he seems like a guy who doesn’t want to coach in the south any longer than he has to, and has HC ambitions. So I think it will just be a matter of right fit and opportunity. I hope we get 2yrs out of him just for consistency sake though.

Yep, we see the impact it has had on our defense. We don't get near the push or disruption with our DT's as we used to. Also, we don't have near as talented LB's as we used to that could absolutely roast anyone running through any open gaps.
Which reminds me. Not a DT or LB but I am still annoyed that Caleb Downs bailed out for OSU, and got rewarded with an NC last year doing it. And of course they changed the transfer rule again only AFTER we got gutted. I want to see OSU and their money bank get cleaned out at some point.

I don't blame Caleb...imo he didn't want to waste a year of eligibility on the team we had last year, Now he has one NC in the bank and may get another. In hindsight I wish that CNS had let the AD know a few weeks earlier so that a better succession plan could have been in place. OTOH, there was so much discord on the 24 team that the Good Lord Himself could not have brought harmony to that locker room...

Caleb bailed because of rea$on$ (dad pushed).

I agree about the discord, but I absolutely loathe mercenaries. Kid was making bank at Bama and a coach whose defense makes safeties look amazing was hired.

I’m sidewalk alumni trash, I chose Bama for free a long time ago, so the thought of people getting paid to play there and leaving irks me.
