Coaching carousel 2025-26

My favorite Les Miles moment was Ole Miss-LSU 2009. LSU completed a pass deep in Ole Miss territory with 1 second left on the clock. He failed to have his FG team ready, and by the time the ball was set, their QB tried to spike it. Game over.

The look on his face was priceless. Reminded me of the constant state of mass confusion on Pat Dye's sidelines......AU won back then by sheer talent alone.

Yep.

Mine, too.

If Golding worked at CVS and I was filling my prescription of antibiotics, I wouldn't trust him to give me medicine that would defend my immune system...
And if Gol*ing was handling a script for a gastrointestinal problem, we doggone well know he ain't got no coverage for tight ends. But let's not forget his heart meds script for 3rd and long to be taken orally (as in smashmouth) at, you know, 1-4-6

I think Kiffin has a better chance of winning a NC at LSU but he also has a much higher chance of imploding as well. You can still tell by some of his behavior he's not exactly mature, he's just a better coach now. Ole Miss was fortunate to have an easier schedule than LSU had the past couple of years, so it made Kelly look worse in relation.

This is basically where I am on "Kiffin to LSU."

The upside is higher at LSU but the downside is both lower and quicker than at Ole Miss.

People don't "really" get the expectations of the Mississippi teams. I know Ole Miss is delusional and has fond memories of when they fielded all-white teams against all-white teams in front of pretty much all-white fans in their stadium with Colonel Rebel and the Stars and Bars, but you know, time presses onward.

Both those schools are content with:
- a 9 or 10-win season
- beating their arch rival
- an upset of a team they shouldn't beat
- a good bowl game

What Kiffin pulled with Ole Miss, though, is one of those rites of Southern passage, where about every 3 years in the Deep South you get a BEAUTIFUL snowfall, and all the kids bundle up to go outside and build a snowman. And there's always one bigger kid who decides to take a leak in the snow and ruin the experience for everyone else.

Lane Kiffin is the guy who just wizzed in Ole Miss' newly fallen snow.

Do I think Kiffin handled his departure from Ole Miss with class, NO. Do I really care, NO.
Will he be under greater pressure in Baton Rouge, YES. Will he win at LSU, YES. If he were to flop at LSU will he still be in demand, NO. I predict his next move will be to the NFL where only the fans and the owners care about winning.

I do not have confidence that Lane will bring in a decent defensive coordinator. Of course LSU will still have a good defense but that is based on the talent that comes in and not the coaching staff, to.

I think it is more likely for Kiffin to implode than win a National Championship at LSU. And when he has not won a championship by the end of Y3, the corndogs will grow impatient. Let's face it, Lane does not handle pressure well.

I wonder if the pressure of living in a small town and having so many secrets was catching up with Kiffin. If you peruse, and happen to believe, a certain single-lettered app, there's a lot of screen shots of things being shared. The only one that's family-friendly enough to post here is that his dog, Juice, wasn't even his dog - just a media prop - and is still in Oxford with his trainer/real owner.

I think we're going to see him implode spectacularly in Baton Rouge.
I saw them…those texts, if true, are pretty damning…but, only of his character…which we already knew is flawed beyond rehabilitation…

I personally don't like the hire from the viewpoint of a Bama fan. I think Lane makes LSU a perennial top 5-10 team as they should be. It's mind boggling to think how up and down that program has been over the years. They have an incredibly rich recruiting ground and will now have a coach that has proven he can get guys out of the portal and can play offense with the best of them.

I wish they would have kept Kelly.

With the obscure ways in which you keep structuring your arguments in support of your brother, Lane, it’s becoming obvious that you intend to die upon this hill…pushing a narrative that is twisted and convoluted, while turning a blind eye to the most obvious route he should have taken… which would have been to stay committed to the team of players that he had convinced to commit to him as a coach, until the end of the season…and then move on to LSU.

It’s not the fact that your brother, Lane, left OM for LSU…but the manner in which he did it. He loves playing games, and being talked about…as all sociopathic narcissists love the spotlight shining on them. Every move he made over the past few weeks (what he said, as well as what he didn’t say) was calculated to insure that Lane Kiffin was being talked about on every TV and Radio show during the crescendo of the college football regular season. He didn’t care who would end up getting burned in the firestorm…as long as his EGO got stroked.

The man-child has not matured at all over the last few years, despite what has been reported. Just like most narcissists though, Lane Kiffin has learned to present himself outwardly (and pretend) to be something he’s not. It’s all an act…watch him in interviews…watch his eyes, and the way he chooses to say what he says…and doesn’t say. People who study human behavior can watch Lane’s interviews over the years and easily see that he’s a sociopathic narcissist who has adapted his outward presentation in an effort to cover his inner nature.

Not sure sociopathic is the right word here. Narcissistic yes. But sociopath...I don't think we can go that far.

Dude I live and breathe Bama.

Nah, he upgraded jobs by a thousand light years. Kiffin made Ole Miss relevant again with far less resources.
Playing into the narrative that only LSU fans, people who hate Ole Miss intrinsically, and/or clients of Jimmy Sexton's CAA(including most members of the 4 letter network) are believing.

Sure, an argument could be made for upgraded jobs, but that is completely separate from walking out on the team that got him to the CFP.

He is no victim here.

Get the popcorn 🍿 ready! Hahaha

Get the popcorn 🍿 ready! Hahaha

Get your popcorn out now. There is a lot of smoke coming out of Oxford regarding Kiffing, sorrority girls, his daughter Landry's escapades. The curious case of Ulysses Bentley (their best RB in 2024) being sat for the heart of the season for no apparent reason. Why they were starting a 4th string WR at RB during crucial games.
