Coaching carousel 2025-26

I think he flames out in spectacular fashion.

If he’s not coaching perennial Top 5 teams and winning a NC the LSU fan base will be much harder on him than OM’s

They are absolutely unhinged as a fanbase.

I read so much on Monday where they displayed a complete detachment from reality.

Multiple folks were saying that LSU was THE premier job in CFB

Not Alabama or even tOSU….. LSU

LOL

When Kiffin is more likely going 10-2 or 9-3 and never winning any kind of Championship and/or getting bounced in the 1st round they will dig up and announce all his dirty little exploits in BR.

The noise will be so distracting and offensive to Lane’s narcissistic little lizard brain that he will go full on self destructive to himself and the program and in 5 years or less they will be right here again doing a HC search.

I can’t wait to watch this train wreck.
Meanwhile, the corndogs are already keeping records on all of his activities to avoid a buyout when they run him off...😎

I think Nick really appreciates his time at Bama and really enjoys the community, but he's said multiple times before that his biggest regret is leaving LSU. For a man that's driven by achievement, he'll always have a "what if" floating in the back of his mind. I don't like that Nick has been that vocal about it, but it is what it is.

Yeah it’s pretty clear when he’s mentioning LSU specifically, and not just a “general reference to college football.”

Who saw this coming?
Penn st still in the dark. LOL!!
That is wonderful news. He is as responsible for Ohio State's success as much as Day has been. Look at all of the stud wide receivers he has recruited and made better. He is a very good coach and incredible recruiter.

I don't think some of our posters have seen this news. it is big and a bit surprising that he took the USF spot. now that he doesn't wear the O on his shirt, lets see how well he can recruit at USF. I think his selling point will be his resume and playing time.

I can tell you that if he thinks he would have won more than six national titles at LSU he's delusional. What he accomplished at Alabama is absolutely insane and to think he would have "won more" by going to LSU is crazy thinking. There's only a few programs Saban could have gone to that, when having the right coach, can truly recruit from anywhere they want, and LSU "ain't" one of those. I have no doubt he could have won three possibly four titles (at best). But six?! Wasnt' going to happen at LSU...

Lane Kiffin is in the news again. But if he's doing the same thing he always does, is it really news?

Kiffin is leaving Ole Miss, immediately, for Louisiana State. It's his sixth head coaching job in 19 years, starting when he was a 31-year-old hotshot hired by Al Davis to coach the NFL's Raiders in 2007. To be fair, he held the Ole Miss job for six seasons (well, almost), longer than any of his other coaching stints. But he still leaves the football program behind, with maximal drama and a trail of damage in his wake.

So it's been with every other Kiffin job. He arrives as a savior who will surely bring a wayward program back to title-winning glory. Then there's drama, some wins, and some losses. He leaves without winning a national title. Rinse and repeat.

You have to think Les Miles, and Orge won 2 and played for another.

I think he could have possibly got to 5 if he never left, including his 03 championship.

So he won 6 at Bama, and played for 8.

Maybe not the exact level of dominance he accomplished at Bama, (because even his non-title teams were great teams other than 07.)

But I bet we’d still be calling him the 🐐, imo.

Not when you still had Bryant having six. He HAD TO get to at least six to get into the conversation with Bryant, regardless of the arguments that would have been given.
