You know what you get from him:
1. Good to excellent recruiter, though I wonder if that hasn't fallen off some as he's aged.

2. Mediocre position coach.

3. Questionable personal conduct.

4. He's going to leave in 2-3 years, with a cloud of some sort over his head.

Does the recruiting ability justify putting up with everything else? I don't think so. But there's only one vote that matters, and it doesn't belong to any of the fans.

Thompson is a hack coach who may have recruited well but it always took another coach to come in after him to deliver. I never wanted to see the second time after seeing what Sal Sunseri did with the OLBs.
