I really like Cody but to me it just seemed like getting into great shape was not his best effort. Saban said he could stay in on passing downs if he dropped his weight to..I don’t remember.. But then after the season was over and it was NFL time he had dropped the weight to what Saban wanted.. That just kind of annoyed me. He is a great player and guy don't get me wrong. I just don't think he has realized he needs to stay in shape.

I do wish him the best of luck.

This will probably be an ongoing problem for Cody. He just going to have to realize that if he wants to make the NFL big bucks, he's going to have to work at it.

Re: Cody fails physical

I am surprised by this information. But I believe that Cody wants to be good and he will put forth the effort and meet the requirements eventually. He has had to work to get where is at and is no stranger to what it takes. I just hope he isn't discouraged and that he keeps on believing that he can do better.

While its clearly an area he needs to focus on, I wouldn't read too much into this. Every year, a fair number of players get put on the PUP list at the start of camp and get taken off as their physical issues are resolved.

Is this just for rookies?

I'm pretty sure T. Cody is in better shape than Tony Siragusa was when he played for the Ravens. It seemed like the last year he was playing, he was minutes away from a heart attack every down.

A rookie CB had failed the conditioning test as well.

It seems like this is more of giving rookies an idea of what the coach/team expects their players to do in order to stay in shape.

Furthermore, supposedly some of the other players that are non-rookies are at the same weight as Cody, and they had passed at some point. Ngata (same position as Cody) was listed at 350, and Cody was listed at 349.

I'm not worried about this. The media is blowing this up because it is Terrence Cody. They seemed to not include some of the other rookies that did not pass the test either.

I love the Ravens and love Mount Cody, but the difference between Ngata and Cody is the type of weight. Jeff Saturday (center for the Colts) seems to think Ngata could play Free Safety because of his athleticism. Cody is less finesse and more girth. I am not worried about this either, but in a week or two I might be. Walt Harris also could not pass the conditioning test the others are injuries. I am sure Cody will be out there this week, or at least I hope so...
