Convince Me NOT to Get YouTube TV for Football

We moved over the summer and I've yet to subscribe to any service but plan to do so in view of the upcoming season.

I used YouTube TV last fall for about a week when Directv had its contract dispute with ESPN because I thought I might miss a Bama game, but was able to cancel within the first "free" week.

So, I'm about ready to jump back in with YouTube TV. Is there a good reason NOT to go with them aside from the new, increased price which is roughly 80 bucks a month?

Additionally, I'm considering the NFL package as well. Planning on watching alot more football this year.

Planning to use my wife's email address to get the new customer discount for the first couple of months too!

Alright, change my mind!

I've used YoutubeTV since Hulu live raised their prices and haven't looked back. They added the ability to watch up to 4 games at a time within the last few years. I also use the ESPN app a lot for that now that SEC games are on ABC instead of CBS. I've tried other services like fubo, sling but nothing beats the interface and DVR. You can add all CFB football and never miss a game or just Alabama. It won't pickup ESPN+ games on first watch but will catch all replays.

I have found that YouTube TV is the best of th bunch. All of them keep raising prices. $80+ is a lot considering it used to be $30. The only reason to keep any streaming service is the lack of a contract. Being able to cancel anytime is the only reason to go with streaming over cable or satellite.

I got Youtube TV about three years ago when I cut the cable cord. I absolutely love it and so does my wallet. Obviously a reliable internet provider is a key also and I highly suggest it. You can group sports, news, network channels together...

ESPN has a new streaming service starting the 21st. I think its about $29 and includes all live espn channels and all ABC college football games. So you won't get as much non sec games as you would with youtube tv, but you'll get all the sec games for quite a bit less.

I've had YouTube TV for years. Works well and I have us set for automatic recording.

ESPN might be worth a look since I really don't use YT TV for anything else these days.

If you want to be able to watch almost all of the CFB games then YT TV is definitely the best and most stable streaming service.

If you only really want Bama games you can save $80 a month with a HD Antenna.

I signed up the 1st month last season and I wasted that money because every single Bama game was on ABC anyway.

Before ESPN took the SEC from CBS you had to have a steaming service because Bama games alternated between ESPN and CBS.

I believe last year 11 of 13 Bama games were on ABC for free (with an Antenna).

I saved a lot of dough last year.

Every year someone posts about YouTubeTV. My response is always the same. I like it.

True, the price keeps going up, but I think it is the best out there, at the moment.

I only pay for football and basketball season. ~ 8 months of the year, give or take a week or two. In my mind, that only amounts to ~ 50 dollars a month over a 12 month period.

My subscription will start back on the 28th of this month. Just in time for FSU game.

Give it a try. It's easy to get into, and it's easy to get out of. :)

I also recall someone saying you can make your account inactive during the off season, but still retain your DVR library.
