Epic!

I just witnessed a thwarted shoplifting. After visiting Mom in her ALF, I stopped at the Dollar General to grab a couple things.

Right at the entrance.....one of the female managers standing in front barking to a young punk to pull the beef jerky out she saw him stuff under his shirt. And...she was holding a claw hammer in one hand!

The punk kid was giving her grief......and she was giving it right back.....didn't back down one iota!

Then the other female manager yelled to him - "Take what you paid for - just leave the jerky!"

Kid wasn't getting out of there...and he knew it. He finally pulled it out and tossed onto a table and stormed out...his punk white trash girlfriend right on his tail.

The female manager then stepped into the doorway and took photos with her phone of the punk's vehicle including plate (he'd backed it in - you know - for a quick getaway).

They didn't try to detain the punk - just wanted the merch. back. Didn't even call law enforcement.

They did leave him with "And don't come back!"

It was awesome! (y)

I can't view it the same way. Too often, the "punk" has a gun in his pocket and snaps. Generally, employees of those establishments are told not to risk their lives for property. That's what those two women could have been doing...

Apparently, the lady with the hammer had been watching this punk for a while....even saw him tear off the security tab on the package, so she knew who she was dealing with.

Could he have had a concealed weapon? Perhaps. But she had a claw hammer in her hand so I dunno if that kid would have had a chance to do anything before getting smashed in the noggin'!

The other lady manager mentioned to me afterwards that in doing that job...you get to know who people are by their demeanor when they come in. Do they avoid eye contact and try to conceal their face? Or do they act normal and return their "Hello how are you today?" greeting they give when shoppers enter the store.

Personally, I found it extremely gratifying to see a shoplifter get caught and justice take place when we see quite the opposite taking place in other segments of the country - and world....which truly is sickening to me.....

We just differ. Life is not a TV series...

Reactions: Bazza

A Michigan man who had been busted for driving with a suspended license shocked the judge overseeing his case when he appeared in court via Zoom from behind the wheel of his car. The defendant, 44-year-old Corey Harris, calmly parked the vehicle as Judge J. Cedric Simpson, looked on in disbelief. The strange series of events took place on May 15, and footage has since gone viral on social media.

This made me laugh out loud.

Bryan Hagerich, an American detained for more than 100 days in Turks and Caicos on charges that he carried ammunition into the islands, joins NewsNation's “Dan Abrams Live” after making it back home.

Great story!

Good Samaritan stops carjacking of 74-year-old's car in Ormond Beach

On Saturday morning at an Exxon gas station in Ormond Beach, police said 36-year-old Marvette Perry tried to steal a couple's car. The victim said he parked at the gas station to use the bathroom, but before he could leave his car, Perry opened the door, pushed him out of the way, and got into the driver's seat.

This isn't the whole segment but the gist of it is the judge did some digging himself and discovered the man never had a DL in the first place! Back to square 1.......

Corey Harris’ attorney, Dionne Webster Cox, confirms that her client did not have a driver’s license when he attended an online court hearing while driving. But she tells “Dan Abrams Live” her client wants to be a law-abiding citizen and do the right thing and is working on acquiring his permit. Harris is free on bond after a pre-trial hearing Thursday – during which the judge scorched him for not having a license.

Turns out the guy didn't have a suspended license....the state messed up on their paperwork........

Schrödinger's license.
[/QUOTE Having a drivers license means you had the money and time to pay for it. I doesn't mean that you can drive or are able to abide by the rules of driving. It is just a fee as demonstrated on every road everywhere every day!

A couple of years ago, a guy (ex-con) from another county out on parole saw a Hooterville kid fall into a raging stream and get swept away. The ex-con fished the kid out of the stream before the kid drowned, but it turns out the ex-con was out of his county without permission, thus violating his parole.
The judge told him, okay (because he had saved the kid's life), but don't let me catch you violating your parole again. Happy ending for all concerned.
