Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

THIS is the TRUTH! The boogs cannot keep up with The University of Alabama
and CNS.

You cannot tell anyone with half a brain that a high school such as allbarn-aubrrens that is nowhere on the radar for a high profile player just comes in at the last minute for 1 and a half month before signing day and then miraculously steals a player away from a elite program like Bama and the best coach/recruiter in the nation while he has been close to the UA program and coaches for 2 years straight now. Not to mention he said just last signing day how fast he wished he could get to Bama but couldnt due to being a high school junior. This smells with the territory.

THIS, in fact, is an insult to the family of one of our players and the last remaining prospect on our board. They only get something we want by cheating: Try that one at home, with your wife, or your kids or your boss.

The last two national championships have been split by coaching staffs with entirely different approaches. One dead serious. One more informal and enthusiastic.

One style appeals to some kids. Other kids prefer the Auburn approach. Both have proved successful. Which leads to this: Lot to like about The Plains right now, even if we hate to admit it.

C-K, C-K, BAMA ALL THE WAY!

We'd ALL love to have you Cyrus...in case you're reading this or something. But take all the time you need to make sure that you're making the right decision.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I will answer that - an unsupervised OV last weekend. more fun, less business. Supervised visit with parents, More business less fun. Goes a long way to an impressionable 17 yo

I do wonder. It certainly couldn't hurt. Let's face it. Coach Saban's and Coach Chizik's philosophies are quite different. Throw in Lupa and Troopa and it becomes even further apart.

His dad mentioned Arie being a mentor to him at Alabama. Maybe that's the very thing he doesn't want. Believe me I'm trying to make sense of it all. I'm just hoping he'll switch and I won't have to wrestle with the why's.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

It seems pretty quiet tonight. I know the family meeting will take place tonight. If he makes a decision tonight I'm not sure it would be in our favor. I really don't know, but it seems like he should take some more time. Then again, if it's Bama go ahead and sign tomorrow please.

I just don't know that a kid would so quickly go against his "heart". Then again I thought he'd sign with us today regardless. Obviously I wasn't the only one.
Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall at their house tonight????

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I have tried to be openminded but they must be really selling so crap down there if they are doing this behind all these families back. I guess the parent is coming out in me right now but all these strange switches are just wrong. Again go where you want but when the families are being left out of the loop the recruits are getting fed some bull they do not want the parents to here.

This is EXACTLY what the interview with Jean Claude shows....Auburn is going behind families' back......I for one do not think that Cyrus will be happy doing that.

I would hope right now to hear a kid who has had pretty rough day sleeping the sleep of babies. Here's hoping he wakes up with a clearer look on life and his future. Good night to the entire Kouandjio family. Y'all deserve it.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I just want Cyrus to be happy with his decision and not forced to go somewhere he doesn't want to be. I will give Auburn credit whatever they tell the recruits the recruits buy it hook, line and sinker. Alabama and Auburn had a great day today and it just fuels the rivalry even more. It reminds me of the Bear and Shug days where the dislike of each program is getting ramped up again.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Whatever happens, I hope the kid does what he wants to do. It might be that he wants to go to Bama, maybe he wants to go to the Barn...but ultimately I hope he makes his own decision, parents or no.

The Bear and Shug days were much more of a gentleman's rivalry than what we have today, and you can thank no-counts like Bobby Lowder for ruining that, and Gene Chizik and Trooper Taylor for perpetuating it.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

There is a part of me that feels bad for the Kouandjio family. What should have been a day of happiness and relief that the recruiting process is behind them, has turned into a stress filled day. God Bless them tonight and whatever his final decision is. Still hope he Rolls with the Tide. Roll Tide!!!

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Good luck with your decision Cyrus. And remember - Crimson is Forever (much nicer color too)

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

It's good news that he hasn't sent in his LOI. I felt like ralphing when I heard he announced to API...

ETA: Despite what others have said, I think we really need CK.

This what Coach Nick Saban says about recruiting in the SEC today. This is why the SEC is tough. It's down right cut throat. You either eat or be eaten.

In the Southeastern Conference when a guy commits, that just makes them a target. It isn’t like that everywhere in the country. It’s really not, but it is that way here, so we expect it. We are not really upset about it when it happens. We just try to manage it. We got a couple of guys too, so I’m not saying we’re squeaky clean because there are a couple of guys that we got that were committed to someone else, but they decommitted from those places and they were interested in Alabama. That is just the way people do business here in the Southeastern Conference. When I was in the Big Ten, we all had a gentleman’s agreement that if a player made a commitment we stopped recruiting them. If there was a guy committed somewhere and he called you, then we contacted the other school and told them, so they knew.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

We have some crazy good talent that hasn't even seen the field yet, but every team in the country needs a 5* OT anytime they can get one...

And an LT at that. Saban said we went after three OT's and didn't get any but then ended with "maybe". In other words he's hoping for a switch.

Anyone that thinks we don't should check out CNS's signing day press conference. Why in the world do we continually sign JUCOs to man the LT position if it isn't a position of need. Its good to have folks that can come in and play there immediately but you eventually want to find a young guy that can develop and hold that position for more than a year or two.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Cyrus just did not look happy today. Most recrruits, who signed their letters, seemed realy happy during their announcements. Crowell comes to mind, but Cyrus did not. This should be a happy day for these guys. They're kids after all. If he choses the cow college so be it. In my heart of hearts, putting my personal biases aside, I truly want to young man to be happy. I have kids, one may be good enough to get a basketball scholarship offer. In my heart of hearts, I would want him to roll w/the Tide, but if his heart were @ Auburn then he would have my blessing and I would be happy for him.
Regardless of what he decides, I truly hope that it's best for him and in the end he is happy.

With that said, ROLL WITH THE TIDE CYRUS!!!!:BigA:
