At this point it might be best for Cyrus to attend Iowa and avoid all the Bama auburn conflict. I wouldn't eat the cornbread tough.

That is a quote by McGregor. That just comes across wrong IMO. The coach, the one that will not regret or enjoy the decision, wants to move forward?! Give me a break!
Man, that sort of makes you wonder what his coach wants to move forward on.

I'm sorry, but I kind of have to laugh at Gene Chizik and Trooper Taylor, and their lack of planning here. Cultural knowledge is paramount. I was reading a thread at BOL, and thought of the lack of cultural knowledge and insensitivity these bozo's really possess. Did they really think that they were going to be able to pull a kid from Cameroon without developing a strong relationship with the parents/patriarch? Laughable, and shows just how little homework CGC and staff have done.

My brother-in-law is from a similar type of family culture in Latin America. Trying to defy the patriarch is simply not going to happen. The importance of a family decision becomes much more important. I can't believe we have missed this angle in our discussion.

Chattbritt - I missed your response - sorry! :)

I just think if Trooper were that "dirty", he would have already had repercussions. He has been named National Recruiter of the year several times. As for the Ok State crowd, when it was first announced that he was coming to Auburn, they were all crying and whining. It was only later that the "Trooper is dirty" talk started.

Time may prove me wrong on everything - I do not have my head totally "buried in the sand" like many of you think. Yes, I worry about future repercussions for our program. How can I not? I read every day about "something", but none of it has ever come to fruition yet. However, like I said, I am not going to automatically assume EVERYTHING associated with our recruiting is underhanded or dirty.

Trooper was dirty at UT, just read Volnation or gridscape, there is a thread about him on one of them . most say they don't want him back and dodged a bullet with him before. TT and his tactics have been known for years, fits well with the Aura surrounding the barn/BL/MM.
At your implied behest, I visited your board and found this nugget
Most of us don't need any proof, we know from experience that bammers are half-witted at best. Want proof? A well known poster on RollTideBama.com posted this morning on a thread about Chris K........."anyone with half a brain knows he will sign with bama."
Thanks Chis for giving them another silver bullet.
Just wondering who Chris Kouandjio is, Is there another Kouandjio brother? real friendly board you have there.

Andrew Bone: Per @kristenkenney who remains in Hyattsville, Md., Cyrus Kouandjio will not make a formal announcement. He will call the coaches . . . .

I'd think he goes to AU then.

That means we will not find out until his LOI has been recieved, otherwise, the coaches can not comment

I don't think that it means anything other than he doesn't want to be bothered. Read what MB has said and it tells me that they are tired of all the scrutiny and constant bombardment of people calling and texting them.

This must be it, because me and RS agree on something for once
I don't know. You guys disagreed on the whackiness of this recruiting season, and it turned out to be very true. I'd say since you agree, it's not true. :biggrin2:;)

this is all just too bizarre. considering the reports that his family and coaches were shocked by his announcement, it really makes you wonder what happened with auburn that this otherwise impressive youngman made such a wacky decision? honestly, everything that happens at the barn is tragi-comic, and anymore, just about anyone that has contact with them is tainted in the process.

At this point I just want the kid to make his decision and get it over with for his sake. They seem like a wonderful close knit family and I can only imagine what they have experienced over the last few days.

On Bone's Twitter:

@kristenkenney has been told by the family she will be the first to know when Cyrus makes his decision. Stay with Scout.com on this one!

Apparently he's going to call the coaches and not make a huge announcement except through kristen

What difference is it to Mcgregor, CK is a senior, he is done with him, what is to him where he goes to school?

That's what I find strange. The coach wants to move forward, that's fine. He can. Cyrus is not his responsibility. Technically, Cyrus isn't on the team, so unless Cyrus goes to the McGregor for help, he doesn't have to talk to McGregor.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Coaches can't comment until they receive the LOI, maybe the kids shouldn't either. It would cut down on the Circus environment around NSD and the recruiting process. Cyrus may be on to something.
