Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I know none of this has to do with how I feel, but I just don't feel comfortable with Cyrus being at school all day with this Ch. McGregor in his ear. I don't like ole Coach thinking he should be the one to have Cyrus on the phone with the AU coaches by noon to explain things. I think Papa K is honorable enough to advice his son on how to handle this situation in an appropriate manner. I also think it would be best if Cyrus didn't talk to any coaches without his parents around at this point since they seem to be a big part in his decision. But like I said, this has nothing to do with me, if it did he would have put on a crimson hat yesterday and this would all be done.

It's "Crimson and White." As for your assessment of Coach Saban's recruiting, your way off the mark. But thanks for playing......

if you are going to come to a rivals board and say stupid stuff...at least attempt to get your facts straight...although you may have been on to something with that first remark.
Arie Kouandjio - Yahoo! Sports believe that would be 4*

Again, the coach was merely exercising professional courtesy and has been the one pointing out to Cyrus that he almost certainly wouldn't be competing with Arie at Bama (Arie appears to have outgrown OT and will likely end up at C or OG).

I find it amazing the number of barners that think we only took Arie because of Cyrus. Arie is a stud in his own right and was a 4 star player (Rivals, Scout).

Can we get rid of this murp, or at least delete his post? I'd rather stay on point than argue about Auburn.

It seemed to work out well for you all in Cam's recruitment by going after the father. Sorry, couldn't help myself...

Hey barner, Arie was a solid 4 star on Scouts(barn site) as well as Rivals(bama site) as the barn would say. Get your facts straight before Mooooooing!!!!!

At me, to what post are you referring? you know you can post with a quote. Where did I say Cheeze nip is laughable, unless you are referring to my one and probably only post on AU family that I posted the cheeser himself(lsu freek pic) in response to the post about Lee Ziemba's tweet that Bama fans have 5 teeth.

again kim, real friendly barner board

PS- apologize for the grammar, to lazy to clean it up.

Guys, please if you are going to respond to the murp don't quote him. Preferably, don't respond to him since one of our Mods already has.

His coach was the one pointing out to him that he wouldn't be competing with his brother on the line at Bama b/c Arie appears to soon outgrow OT and is more likely to be Bama's next great center or guard than tackle.
You obviously didn't read today's article. It portrayed the coach and being a Barn homer. Hopefully, I read too much into that. :)

@ bamaga

What he meant to say:

I love Alabama. They are the greatest school ever. Coach Bryant is my hero.

Is there an award for the most ridiculous post of the thread? If so, this one's sure to win.

Why not just go ahead and accuse Coach Saban of water-boarding parents until they agree to sign their sons' LOIs?

The fact - a word that Plainsmen don't seem to grasp - is that across the Southeast, API's recruiting tactics are being questioned by parents. API's recruiters are being likened to salesmen of used cars and snake-oil. You can fantasize about Alabama's recruiting strategy until the API co-eds... err cows come home... but the fact of the matter is parents trust Coach Saban. He doesn't make them promises that he knows he can't keep.

Maybe it's just me but every time I see Cyrus Kouandjio it reminds me of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Dematha has produced a lot of D1 talent, and I'm sure the coach is just trying to help CK through a situation he has been through many previous times with other players, though obviously never raised to this level of drama. I'm sure he's heard every pitch a school could throw at a recruit and can help CK sift through it - hence his explanation to CK about why he wouldn't be competing with Arie.

I believe Arie pushed for playing time as well this past season. Had there been a season ending injury to a lineman, I think he may have been the first off the bench. The staff was not going to burn a possible red shirt on just a few plays because they believe he will have a productive award winning career at Bama. He is highly thought of.

Re: Don't feed the troll!!!

People keep advising him to follow his heart that its his decision, etc. From what I have seen from his committment and subsequently not faxing letter of intent in and to make comments that he had doubts afterwards, his heart is not in Auburn. Seems pretty simple if that is the advice he is being given. If his heart were with AU, no brainer, he would have signed on the dotted line. I hope he is happy wherever he goes, life is too short to fish with dead crickets.

A coach is one thing but when the father says it is now a family decision the coach needs to back off and has no place at that table. The article also said that Cyrus has already talked to the Auburn staff, why does the coach need to push it again. Also the fact that the family and Cyrus are not returning his calls might indicate they do not want the coach involved at this point. Again the father and Cyrus said this is for the family to decide and as a parent I would hope the coach would respect that.
