Re: Don't feed the troll!!!

So no Iowa. The Coach think he will stick with Auburn.

I think the parents will win out and he will be back with Alabama. But who really knows right now.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I've read a number of articles posted this morning and only saw a coach being a coach.

Dematha has produced a lot of D1 talent, and I'm sure the coach is just trying to help CK through a situation he has been through many previous times with other players, though obviously never raised to this level of drama. I'm sure he's heard every pitch a school could throw at a recruit and can help CK sift through it - hence his explanation to CK about why he wouldn't be competing with Arie.

Very good point. Given the profile of the DeMatha program, this is not the first recruiting rodeo for the head coach. He wants all schools treated fairly because that means they may all come back -- which is a feather in the school's cap and which means more opportunities for future players.

Re: Don't feed the troll!!!

Hmmm, unless tidesports quoted his dad incorrectly Iowa is back in it. Maybe they did. ?????? I don't have a rivals account to see if that's the case.
Someone asked him that, and his response was along the lines of "His father also didn't know he was announcing for AU yesterday."

I still have not mastered this post a link thing, but you can google "Cyrus Inching Closer" on Yahoo!Sports Canada to get to that latest article by Mike Farrell.

So Rivals guy knows more than dad? Interesting. Is he going to try to steer him to au as well? Seems like everyone else is.

Luginbill - "If I had to give a gut reaction- an inclination, I think he (Kouandjio) ends up at Alabama"

He was right last week (even before the visit). I hope he's right again!

Well tbh, I'd MUCH rather CK head to Iowa than the barn. Based off the coaches recent comments from today....shewwww..... I'm hoping he gets closed out of the loop fast the way he was talking.

I have personally reached my limit for taking barn successes for an entire decade in the last 12 months alone, beginning with last NSD and carrying through to this week. I work with them, date one, and and spend half my holidays and weekends surrounded by them and I am at critical mass. C'mon Kouandjio parents!

Cyrus, St Nick Fairly, Coach McGregor, and Brian Overstreet

A few people I know, that I respec and usually have their ducks properly rowed, feel there is some merit to this story.

I wondered myself how Nick Fairly, the potential #1 overall pick in the draft, ended up with Brian Overstreet as his agent.

Overstreet works out of Maryland.

He also has some sort of relationship with Cyrus, and perhaps the HC at De Matha as well.

Seems there are some who believe that Overstreet told AU coaches that if they sent him St Nick Fairly as a client, he could deliver them Cyrus. Make no mistake, the aubs wanted Cyrus to visit, and alone, to keep the strong family influence out of the loop.

This Head Coach McGregor seems a little too invested in this saga as well, and very anxious for Cyrus to speak and conference with aub coaches - who will lay the guilt trip on him.

BTW - Coach McGregor is involved with something called "Coach Files", which is the same type "Mentoring and PR" firm as such sleaze bags as Walt Willaims and Brian Butler oversee. For the purpose of helping young people, of course :rolleye2:

Neither is true. I took what he said as things are changing and Daddy K might not be kept up to date. Shane Youngblood covers UA, so I don't see him trying to steer Cyrus to UA.

Al22, the article you are talking about is the one I linked in my Youngblood tweet.

Unbelievable...

Here it is and it doesn't sound good to me. Cyrus needs to go home and get with his family. It's one thing if they guide and steer him. It's quite another if his coach does. Now it appears Cyrus hasn't even talked to Alabama coaches. Wonder why Saban's name is nowhere to be found in all these reports?

Oh, I know Shane covers Alabama. I was thinking rivals guy that wrote the article was Farrell. He was the one I was speaking of.

My bad.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Does anyone else think it's fishy that the coach seems to be leaning so heavily toward AU? I mean according to that article it was AU that contacted the coach to set up the conference call. And, of course, the coach is the only person in America who wasn't 'surprised' by Cyrus's last minute commit to AU.

It is definitely clear that Coach McGregor ISN'T talking to or keeping CK's dad in the loop. I find this very problematic.

Re: Cyrus, St Nick Fairly, Coach McGregor, and Brian Overstreet

Mu gut reaction is that this story has merit. Maybe not to that extreme, but this coach has ulterior motives.
