Someone not from the state of AL I guess it does not sting as much to have the Barn get him, I just fail to understand how they are pulling this off. Not trying to be a UA homer I just do not understand.

Again though with their schedule next year it does not matter. They will not be able to sale early PT next year and with a 6 win season their recruiting class will suffer. The following year these players will start to help but it will be their 3rd year and they will also leave for the NFL the good ones atleast. Good luck to him.

Also if we could get IC and not saying we will I will be content with him going to the Barn.

Everyone that thinks AU is just going to implode next year and go 6-6 or something like that are just clueless. I hate to admit it, but AU is about to finish with their second straight Top 5 class. They've got more talent than the majority of the SEC teams they will play next season. They play no teams coming off a bye. Unless something crazy happens with this NCAA suff, expect to see AU up there in the hunt most every year, just like Bama. You can't say a team is second tier when they just come off winning a NC. If they are cheating, which we all know they are, it has paid off and they are now reaping the benefits.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Aaron Douglas will help us forget about anyone we lose out on, as will Arie. I think that Auburn really manipulated Cyrus into believing he'd be taking the spotlight from his brother, but that is purely a guess.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I hope it works out for him. Signing Douglas was probably the "straw that broke the camel's back" so to speak. If he wants immediate playing time he certainly made the right choice.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Have not been near computer this a.m. to say I was text that he had gone to the dark side. Barners sold him on starting day one with Westerman. I posted in the days leading that he was third on the board at OT and like me many were surprised. Aaron Morris and Shell were both ahead of CK. Saban has his own evaluations and he is darn good at it. Did we want CK, yes but ept won out. No good lucks from me nor will I bash either.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I understand this decision but I do not wish him luck. (I know that is a bit harsh but come on Auburn wasnt even in his top 10 a few months ago and then he goes on a visit and just decides that is the place for him) No "best wishes" from me. Could care less. If he isnt a competitor and wants to come in and "work" for something then go to that trash school Auburn and go get his a** beat his freshman year by these SEC DE's. But I understand that he doesnt want to work for a goal so ROLL TIDE!!!!!.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Yes, it sucks because we really wanted CK to play with his brother. However, he chose not to.

ABOVE ALL ELSE, we will not tolerate inappropriate remarks about CK. We will not use language that is not suitable for this situation, nor is deserved. Do I think it's a bad move? Yes, but I'm a Bama fan.

One has taken a seat, let's not have anyone else take a TO.

TO?!!....dude, you'll have to break the paddle out if JC goes to USCe. ;) :biggrin2:

Speaking of Shell, has he signed yet? I know he came away impressed a few weeks ago. Just wondering if maybe he throws a NSD surprise.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

When it comes right down to it immediate playing time was very important for him. With all of the losses along the o-line for the barn he will not have to compete for a starting job there like he would at Alabama.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Doubtful that we'll get him, but I've been wrong before. If there will be any surprise I would imagine it would be Tre Jackson. He's been verbally committed to GaTech, but has just decided that he wouldn't be signing today. Apparently UGA and Bama are in his ear

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

A+ to this entire post. People must have forgotten what we recruited over the last two years that has yet to touch the field. Cyrus will start from day 1 at AU. If he needs that much work on his pass blocking skills (which ESPNU analyst said he needed) then odds are he'd RS and if he didn't get a whole 'lot better the year after could very well be still riding the bench. Good points BF777.

We need to not let something like this sink the ship for us. I think the biggest disappointment for the entire family is going to be what they experience with what comes along with a situation like this. Two brothers going to ravalry schools like Bama/Barn. Don't think for one minute that this is going to handled with an "Oh golly gee guys!! This is going to be fun!!". With what they're going to have to put up with from both fanbases and the media I have a feeling they will look back and wish this would had never happened.

This is very true. It's why I never believed the talk of him choosing Auburn. The next 3/4 years are going to be hell for that family. If they didn't understand the nature of rivalries in the SEC, they will by this November.

Well, if the Barn gets the PLOI over the summer, we might indeed have the opportunity to get CK back over the summer if the NCAA does what they did with USC and allow incoming freshmen to transfer without penalty.

Its pretty obvious to me that most people in the country despite the media attention have no idea what is really going on with AU, Cam, Colonial, and BingoGate - especially these young guys. It also tells me despite the negative karma surrounding Barnville, Bama and UA continue to not negatively recruit against them.

The NCAA didn't let the USC freshmen transfer. USC let Seantrell Henderson out his binding agreement mainly to save some face.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Yea they have... When they had Cam Newton. Don't kid yourself. The guy was 5-19 in the Big 12 North and comes to the SEC West and goes undefeated. That doesn't jive with me.

I really think recruiting in Auburn is a lot different than Iowa State. The facilities, TV exposure, history are a lot greater at AU than IA State. Also, think about the fact the kids who signed last year and this year were in 3rd & 4th grade when AU started their 6 game winning streak. Having coached 4th & 5th grade basketball when the Gators were on their NC run in basketball all my kids were gator fans. I coached 5th & 6th grade football when the Gators won in 2008, 90% of the kids were gator fans(our QB's dad played @ Nebraska, his grandpa @ Bama, he had Gator sheets, clothes etc b/c they were the hip team and it's his goal to go to UF) How many of these kids are the same way, remember AU always beating Bama? Especially some of the in state kids and the southeast who have been AU fans since elementary/middle school.

Once the kids get to college, from a defensive perspective they will get coached up at BAMA compared to AU. On the offensive side of the ball, I believe QB's, & OL for whatever reason seem to improve more under the current AU regime compared to Bama. We have brought in a lot of talent on the OL recently and it seems they stagnate once they get here. I am not flaming our players, just do not believe Fluker, Love etc have lived up to the hype we gave them coming out of HS.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Let me just say what others are thinking.....how in the world is AU doing this? To go from where they were at the end of the 2008 season to two years later having a NC and two top 5 recruiting classes? At Auburn? Come on. Either something funny is seriously going on or they have the best collection of college football recruiters in the history of college football.
I contend that the best thing that ever happened to that school was Nick Saban going to Alabama. Someone or some people over there (I'll let you decide who) decided that they weren't going to sit back and watch Bama do what it was starting to do in 2008. They got the coach in that they knew they could control. They are working their magic behind the scenes. Whatever it takes to keep up with us. WHATEVER IT TAKES

You act like auburn wasn't a one man show last year..Take away sCam..How many wins do they have..I think you're giving the Barn a tad too much credit..JMO..

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Disappointing. Being from Maryland, I don't think he has ANY idea of the bitterness of the rivalry between Alabama and Auburn, and how a rift will be developed between him and his brother every November. Ok, I'll move on now...

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Ex that one out too. Everything is fluid. Looks like Mr. Jackson will be headed to FSU, Miami, or NC State.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

You have any Proof? I do, as in no letter of inquiry, no coaches jumping ship, plenty of top recruits and what proof do you have?? Rumors from reporters with their "sources" and the NCAA report that the Rev sought out money from Miss St. Not Oklahoma, Auburn or anywhere else Cam Newton was recruited> But this is a Bama message board and I am not here to flame the great University of Alabama, but I will indeed defend The great Auburn University and until there is credible evidence against Auburn then everything else is just rumors. Congrads on the great recruiting class and bring home # three in a row for the Greatest Stats of Alabama!

Cam Newton should be the least of Auburn's worries.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

It's much more serious to us than it is to them. When football ends for both of them, they'll still be brothers.....

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

This one shocked me. Looks like The Great State of Alabama will be the center of college football for some time to come. On the bright side we will be very attractive to big time Kline recruits next year and the barn can't sell early pt.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I saw where Cyrus said he would go where his gut feeling said. It wouldn't be a logical decision. the problem with that is that emotions change. AU having the last visit gave them an emotional advantage. He will have some huge buyers remorse, but hope he can make the most of it. It is difficult, but parents and coaches really need to help kids take the emotion out of it and use logic as much as possible.
If people would use more logic than solely a gut feeling when they get married, there would be a lot less divorces IMO. I know some emotion is part of it, but it should not solely dictate the decision.
