re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

You have any Proof? I do, as in no letter of inquiry, no coaches jumping ship, plenty of top recruits and what proof do you have?? Rumors from reporters with their "sources" and the NCAA report that the Rev sought out money from Miss St. Not Oklahoma, Auburn or anywhere else Cam Newton was recruited> But this is a Bama message board and I am not here to flame the great University of Alabama, but I will indeed defend The great Auburn University and until there is credible evidence against Auburn then everything else is just rumors. Congrads on the great recruiting class and bring home # three in a row for the Greatest Stats of Alabama!

Probably not a very good idea to come in here beating your chest...

while i hate to lose any 5 star recruit, i understand his position as a potential pro. his brother red shirted, and i am sure he realized that he probably was due for a redshirt as well. we recruited aaron douglas first team freshman all american at tenn, and that filled immediate need for a solid left tackle. even as close as he is with his brother, he still has pro aspirations. he will step in immediately with the other 5 star off linemen recruited by auburn and be their offensive line now, they lost their entire off line and they will have early playing time. cyrus was looking at 3 years and go. redshirt would have been devastating. we will be just fine with douglas, and the rest of the off line.

He's been saying all along he didn't necessarily want to play with his brother. IMO, he specifically wanted to not play with his brother. The fact that Auburn is the rival of his brother's school wasn't just not an issue, it appealed to him. I think this is all about Cyrus wanting to be his own man. I think it's a bit of an immature decision that he will ultimately regret. He's like a kid who chooses to go home with the stranger with candy instead of his own parents who are at the present candyless. I mean he's had how long to think about this, to make this decision? Years and he ends up choosing a school he hadn't even considered until the last couple of weeks.

Let me just say what others are thinking.....how in the world is AU doing this? To go from where they were at the end of the 2008 season to two years later having a NC and two top 5 recruiting classes? At Auburn? Come on. Either something funny is seriously going on or they have the best collection of college football recruiters in the history of college football.
I contend that the best thing that ever happened to that school was Nick Saban going to Alabama. Someone or some people over there (I'll let you decide who) decided that they weren't going to sit back and watch Bama do what it was starting to do in 2008. They got the coach in that they knew they could control. They are working their magic behind the scenes. Whatever it takes to keep up with us. WHATEVER IT TAKES

This makes a lot of sense, and is probably more true than not. Until some damning evidence arises, though, it's just conjecture.

I find it strange that one of his stated reasons for not choosing Bama was that he didn't want to compete with his brother, but he chose a school where he will compete with his brother's school 365 days per year. There must be something more to it, and early PT seems likely to me.

OK, I just puked and it wan all over tbone4jc.
Proof? You believe Cam, then? Is that what you're saying? Because you either believe him or you don't, and if you do, well...you're an idiot.
Being a barn fan, that's not really a stretch, anyway.

this is not a big deal, he would ride the pine here for a few years anyway

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

It is a surprise but not a shock. He has been coy the entire time of the process. There was nothing said that would make you think he was committed to Alabama. Obviously having his brother would make you think we would have him. But sometimes that works against you. Clearly the barn has needs on the O line with several departures. So I guess he didn't want to be in anyone's shadow and be his own person. Big loss though for us this year.

Minus the candy reference...I think this post is right on cue.

Here's the good ole' Southern "Bless Your Heart." You have no idea what is coming because your head is in the sand. Do I pity you? Noooooo. Will I laugh in your face when the inevitable happens? Yes. Here are a few names you should familiarize yourself with: Bobby Lowder, Milton McGregor, Jimmy Rane, Jarrod Massey, Chette Williams Ministries, TUF. Go to tigerdroppings.com and find the "As the Plains Burns" thread. That should enlighten you.
