No matter who our QB is he will be called a "game manager" because we don't throw the ball 40-50 times per game.
Sidenote: JP was cut, but it was due to some weird rules of the lockout, he missed 10 days of practice AFTER everyone else was back. Until then, they expected him to win the backup job. They just couldn't wait. He'll be back next year.
I'll throw out another comment. Not many remember, but Tom Brady was not considered a gunslinger in college either. In fact, he was a game manager that came through with key plays when he had to. That turned out okay.

True he has done a great job at Boise, but it was Hawkins who set that program up and got it up and running and winning on a big scale. Petersen came in and kept it going and has improved it. But, Hawkins started it.
