Apparently Coach Saban just said on his radio show that they are appealing, and are looking for just one game.

Either way, I'm happy to have a decision. One game or two, either is better than four. :)

Will he have to repay the $1700+ before he can play again, even if suspension (two games) is over? That's a lot of cash for a college kid unless he has a close relative to give him a bump.

UA probably uncovered the amount, so I bet he's been pinching pennies for awhile now. I wouldn't be surprised if it's already been paid back.

Yea...good news! I'm a little concerned about Dareus not playing in the Penn State game...but he is very lucky and will probably be ultra careful from now on with those agents.

With our past history with the NCAA this is very good news.

I think it's gonna be weird having neither the Offense nor Defensive players of the game from MNC till week 3. That said, this will help build depth.

Just glad he's coming back this season, and two games is not to bad considering things. Situations like this with the NCAA can always be worse, that's for sure. Bama players will hopefully take this lesson to heart from this episode. We're loaded with NFL talent these days, and agents & runners will be swarming out players like sharks.

Well, it coulda been a whole lot worse. Hate to lose him for any games but at least its just two. Dareus is going to demolish some folks when he gets on the field.

It's too bad that he has to miss any at all, but honestly 2 games is a big relief. Certainly could have been worse.

I know some folks are worried about this, but don't you guys remember how Square played last year before he was injured? I'm feeling confident in our TEAM and that they will pick up the slack, especially on the DL.

According to Alabama, the benefits included airfare, lodging, meals and transportation during two trips to Miami. A second trip had not previously been disclosed.

Personally, I'm not worried. Just more disappointed for Dareus than anything. We're a deep, deep football team.

Agreed. I'm glad this is behind us now. Again, like with Mark, at least this is at a position where we aren't thin.

I just heard where it was rumored A.J. Green may have been at that party. He is still under investigation apparently. I didn't know they were looking at him.
